Will Rogers Carry the New iPhone 3Gs?

Well it’s that time of year again. It’s Apple’s WWDC. Basically every year Apple has a conference to announce new products. Since 2007 they have been announcing the iPhone and this year has been no different.

Apple has announced the Apple iPhone 3Gs. It’s similar to the previous but like anything new it does have its differences. The new iPhone3Gs will have longer battery life, overall be faster both on the 3G side and on the phone’s side overall. Best of all the Apple iPhone 3Gs will be coming in 16GB ($199USD) and 32GB ($299) versions.

Now the big question is will Rogers Communication be carrying the new iPhone? At this time no one is sure. Rogers hasn’t officially said they would be carrying it but Apple did say it would be available in 80 countries worldwide by August. In an article in the Globe and Mail it was said that “…[n]o Canadian carrier has been officially announced for the iPhone 3GS and Rogers officials were not immediately available for comment.”

The other big news is Apple announced that the Apple iPhone 3G will still be available and be taking a price cut to $99USD. Does this mean that Rogers and Fido will follow suit. Granted the price might not drop to $99 but with the exchange rate can we see an iPhone 3G 8GB at $125CAD or less.
