Samsung Galaxy S is marketed under various names in the US. Verizon as Fascinate, T-Mobile will have it as Vibrant, AT&T will sell it as Captivate, and Sprint will have it as Epic 4G and US Cellular as Galaxy S. The same phone is budged differently by giving it a somewhat different look and by adding a few extra features for example; Vibrant on T-Mobile comes with a 2GB micro-SD card and a unique collector’s edition of a game along with the other general features.
Unlocked Samsung Galaxy S Vibrant is a keyboard-less cell phone with a Super AMOLED screen measuring 4 inches, 5MP camera capable of shooting 720p video and a 1GHz Cortex Hummingbird processor. It also has a forward-facing camera meant for video calls.

The Vibrant went on sale from July 21st. Bell started to sell the Unlocked Samsung Galaxy S Vibrant for $149.99 on contractual terms for three years. Bell is the exclusive carrier for Galaxy S Vibrant in the Canadian market. Most probably Android 2.1 will be run on the Vibrant at launch. However, a Froyo update can be expected later this year.
An exciting offer is on for early birds—every buyer on this day of sale gets the chance to win free tickets to a concert by Lady Gaga and whoever buys a Vibrant before September 3 can win a Samsung TV measuring 55 inches.
Bell made sure that it drew attention to the fact that through their brand new handset people can avail of remote PVR capabilities. Video calls can be made as it has a camera in the front face of the mobile, though video calling is a costly affair. It has also been said that the mobile screen is also a nice feature. Considering all the “vibrant” features of the Samsung Vibrant, media connoisseurs should pull over at their nearest Bell store. For more detailed information one can refer to the online store of Bell.

We have seen the new Unlocked Samsung S Galaxy and already know that it is being released on four of Canadian major cell phone carriers. All these and more have been packed into a new promotional venture which will help the company gear up for diving into the Canadian smartphone market. There has been a previous promotional video for this phone that had been released, but we can easily say that this video is probably the most inclusive one and includes all the necessary details that will make you go for this phone and not any other in the market. This one is definitely worth a watch.
Probably the most significant part of this video is that all the variants of the Samsung Unlocked Galaxy S series have been featured here together here. Furthermore, the promotional video is by far the longest one that we have seen. It is almost four minutes long and they do show off the phones to the viewers much better. The handsets by the name of Vibrant, Captivate, Fascinate and the Epic 4G are soon to enter the market head on and are in fact expected to compete against each other for their niche in the market. For this reason, it is more important that all the buyers are brought up to speed with all the various features of these phones. We feel that the Epic 4G is by far the best choice that you can make from the Galaxy S series strictly based on its features. Full QWERTY and front facing cameras are one of the features of this phone which makes this a great choice available on Sprint’s network.
Currently the variants available in the USA are the Samsung Unlocked ( Vibrant) which is available on T-Mobile, and the Captivate- only on AT&T. Later in the year we will be seeing the Epic 4G coming out from Sprint.

The Unlocked Samsung Galaxy S as recently started tests of its Android 2.2 Froyo platform and although there are a few recent leaks that have flooded the markets, nothing has yet been confirmed as to when the software upgrade will actually be made available. However, if the Samsung Galaxy S Twitter account is to be believed, you can expect this release in September. Before you do get your hopes up, remember that this release is only intended for those that have the original international version of the Samsung Galaxy S and not the American version. Although you can expect that the US version will soon be released, Samsung keeps changing its plans and as such, it is probable that it will receive the Froyo much faster than t would be released for any other sites.
The main reason as to why there is the possibility of an increase in the updates of Android for the Samsung Galaxy S is mainly because the TouchWiz UI found on the phone is not deeply integrated as compared to many other Android capable cell phones such as the HTC Sense. At the same time, since there is heavy customization on the HTC Sense, getting a newer version of the Android would be quite difficult as the UI goes in quite deep.
As for the Samsung Galaxy S, you can easily expect that the Froyo will be rolled out by the end of September which does not seem too far away. The only problem that the Galaxy might face is that there might a newer and better phone that will be released having Froyo.

Considering the fact that the Samsung Unlocked Galaxy S is by far a very good device to have, we are still wondering what else we can expect by September when the release is out. Chances are that the 3G Mobile Hotspot feature would be left out on this release.

Samsung, the Korean electronics giant has claimed to have plans of moving 10 million pieces of their latest creation, the highly desired Android smartphone, the Unlocked Samsung Galaxy S. The phone, their latest addition to the Android world is supposedly quite a creation and the company is said to have high hopes surrounding it. The company has sold 300,000 pieces in its own place and over 10 million units all over the world.
Two things about the news is however still unclear- whether the company’s claim state their plans for this lone year only, and since nothing has been mentioned about the time period, one would hope that it is. The next is whether the proclaimed number includes the soon to be launched Galaxy S Pro, which is known to be Samsung Unlocked (Epic 4G). This however we presume doesn’t.
While considering the claims placed by the company one must not forget that the device in question is one of the most in demand smartphone market and possesses features to die for. The super gorgeous 4-inch WVGA Super AMOLED touch screen, 1-GHz processor, 5-megapixel camera, HSPA Rev, Wi-Fi connectivity, Bluetooth, 3.5mm audio jack, light, proximity and accelerometer sensors, microSD of up to 32GB along with a stylish and sleek exterior all adds to its appeal. And the device is also being offered in multiple carriers unlike other high-end smartphones, which have exclusive carrier contracts. So considering all of these there is no reason to doubt whether Samsung will reach its goal.

Also not forgetting the back to school sales it is seen to become considerably easy for Samsung to achieve what they claim. It is however yet to be seen whether the company can fight of the other biggies like Motorola, HTC and Apple’s Unlocked Iphones 4 or if it succumbs to the pressure and loses out in the long run. But as of now in view of their current progress one wouldn’t be surprised if Samsung’s competitors were the one to tighten their shoelaces.

Canadian customers who have been waiting for the Unlocked Samsung S Galaxy ( pro ) are soon to be getting their fill as there are confirmed reports that this phone will be coming into the country as soon as the month of July. Released as the Samsung Epic 4G in the USA this great smart phone from Samsung will be released with any one of the major carriers of the country. We had earlier reported that this will be released by Bell but the Samsung Galaxy S “Vibrant” will soon be made available on carriers like TELUS or Rogers. Samsung has released an official statement in this relation where they have said “Canadian consumers can anticipate the release of additional Galaxy S smartphones throughout the rest of 2010.” This is really encouraging news for consumers in the country.

Features wise, as we know, the Samsung S Galaxy unlocked gadget is pretty well loaded. This Android OS 2.1 device, boasts of a 5 Mega pixel camera and an excellent AMOLED screen which gives excellent color and brightness outputs. Along with that, there is of course the now very well received QWERTY screen which has raided buttons for a greater typing comfort. Other than this, there is also the much anticipated 720p HD video recording along with Wi-Max support. The OS which the Samsung S Galaxy comes with also allows for several customization features like the Touch Wiz 3.0. This phone which is being considered as the direct competitor to the EVO 4G definitely lives up to its billing in terms of pricing and facilities that it promises.
Now with this phone, customers in Canada can enjoy the entire package of Google Mobile apps which includes Google Maps, Google Search and Gmail. More importantly for people who are finicky about how their phone looks, they will of course have access to the entire Android Market to download the large number of apps which are available.
