HTC Desire on TELUS soon

TELUS has announced recently that they will be coming out with the Unlocked HTC (Desire) on their network which will bring 3G and many other features along with it. In terms of pricing, this phone will be comparable with the Nexus one but does not have that high a quality as compared to the Unlocked Motorola  Droid (X.) For the customers there will be an added plus of the Sense UI which will allow the customization of the home page. The US customers have a special chance to get their hands on this one by way of an import from Canada as this was not available on the US Cellular. They would have to import a European version otherwise.

As we said earlier, this phone will have the Sense UI coming with it and therefore you can then customize your phone in any way as it will be running on Android. There will be a number of changeable layouts and widgets, custom home screens and a large number of options which will allow you to enhance the performance of your Android device. The specs on this one are more or less the same as other Android models. As said earlier, the Desire will come with the new Android OS which is known as the Froyo or the Android 2.1. Other than this, there are also the usual features of the nature of GPS and Wi-Fi connectivity. As for performance, this phone does have a slight draw back as the Flash performance, we feel, is slightly lacking. The Sense layout is by far the best on the Android device and this is where the phone scores above the Nexus one unlocked handset.

There is no official date which has been set for this phone’s release. However, since it will be coming with the back to school collection, we can assume that it will show up before August.

Android to get MobiForms Mobile Sync Server support

After the success of the RAD or the Rapid Application Developer tool from MobiForms, which was supported on the Android it is now the turn of the MobiForms Sync Server which now will be able to run on the Android OS like the Nexus One unlocked. Therefore you can now use this rapid acceleration software to create any sort of mobile application from all kinds of portable devices which have the Android OS running on it.

Multifunctional in nature, the specs of this software are much better in comparison to any precursors and the other likenesses which are there or have been there in the market. Good news for developers as this allows for very good standard of synchronization and data replication from any kind of server which has Oracle Server or Oracle Lite, Microsoft Access etc on it to any mobile device which is running on Android or any windows based mobile device. The MobiForms Sync Server (MSS) is compatible with some types of servers which run either on Oracle, Access, SQL Server, IBM DB2, My SQL and some others which are there.

How will this enhance the speed of creation of apps? Well with the MSS you can actually enhance the speed of building mobile phone apps and bypass the hassles of Java programming which otherwise can be of some time delay as it takes a large amount of coding to come up with the ultimate end product. However, with MobiForms you can use its smart drag and drop features to set up the app and voila you are on your way.

The MobiForms Sync Server is one part of the advanced designer which allows you to construct the entire of processes needed to develop the Android based apps. The one is really something for developers to take note of.

More details about the Android Gingerbread

Eldar Murtazin recently presented details about the Android Gingerbread on the Russian podcast Digestive. According to it, Gingerbread will be accessible on advanced devices, which have 1 GHz processors, 512 MBs of RAM, and a large touch screen. Most of the Android devices don’t have any of these features, and hence, are not suitable for the Gingerbread. Only Android phones that were launched earlier this year are able to meet these criteria. A resolution of up to 1280×760 will be supported, and the new user interface will be taking note from the Android 2.1’s photo gallery. But whether or not this means that the UI will be 3-D like is still a guess. But with the 1 GHz processor, a 3-D UI will be very easy to take on.

The low-end Android devices will have to remain happy with 2.1 or 2.2, and as for the Motorola Droid, it will have to remain satisfied with the Froyo only. When it comes to processing power, 1 GHz is the new 528 MHz, and devices such as Unlocked HTC Hero or CLIQ will be unable to tackle Gingerbread. The great divide between the low-end devices and high-end devices by Android will get even more prominent with this Gingerbread issue. Users of myTouch 3G or myTouch 3G Slide will not be happy at all. Both these sets are new inclusions in the market, but they do not meet the hardware conditions that are required for Gingerbread. On the other hand, for people who own a Google’s Unlocked  Nexus One or some other high-end device, they will be excited beyond belief, since their phones’ hardware standards meet that of the Gingerbread’s requirements. But this does not necessarily mean that your device will be best suited for the Gingerbread.

According to Murtazin, the Gingerbread will most likely be introduced in the month of October.

Android provides highest Free Apps

Though it’s quite evident that the Android market does have its ups and downs along with its numerous loopholes yet ironically it manages to get the net result to be on their side. The bottom-line: they get the job done. And if the recent performance charts are anything to go by then it definitely indicates the booming Android Smartphone (Google Nexus One Unlocked) industries market. They seem to have taken the world by storm with their technology.

The marketers’ of the Android technology has used a masterstroke by giving new definition to the word ‘free’. Generally when any company provides anything with its product as ‘free’ then it’s a general notion of the customers that it is expendable. But Android technology has made a huge proportion of their applications that are compatible and can be installed in their smart phones free. This Android market has the highest portion of free applications in any of the mobile applications store in the world. The free applications that the Android makers boast off comprise of a full 57 percent of the entire market place. As it is an application, which is free, and not a product hence customers are not really feeling that it’s of lesser quality. In this process the developers attract more customers with the ‘free’ tag. Hence ironically the makers are making more money by selling stuff for free.

But truth be told, the free applications that stream out from the Android market may cost a lot less than its Apple iPhone4 counterparts but they lack the finesse and the beauty of the applications that are available on the Apps store. But the cheap price tag does help in getting itself a lot of customers. The Android applications are sold at $3.29 whereas the average price of some of the best appearance software from that of an App store costs around $4.27.

HTC Mobile hacks down its price

There’s a bit of good news for the Android fans as henceforth they will be getting their Unlocked HTC ( Desire ) model at a reasonable price. The price for this latest smartphone has come down drastically. They are even making provisions of marketing this phone in installments. They are giving it away at 55$ when you sign up a contract with them of about 30 $ a month which will include around 100 text messages and 100 minutes of talk time with 3 GB of data. There is another scheme which is slightly more pricey but offers better facilities like 500 text messages and 600 minutes of talk time and 3 GB of data which is around 38$ a month.

This new move is aimed at getting a tactical advantage over the new Apple Unlocked  IPhone 4. This scheme enables users to gain leverage against the pricey Apple’s latest iphone. In terms of prices the Apple costs around $332 a month with a Vodafone Connection, which surely indicates the difference in the prices.

But one seems to wonder whether only the price difference is going to make the customers opt for an Android mobile over the reliability and class of the Apple iPhone. It might be quite a handful for the Desire smartphone to nudge the Apple phone from its alpha ‘supremo’ position but given the number of unique and devastatingly cool features of this Google Nexus Unlocked One Android smartphone, it might turn out to be a well fought battle.  Everyone is waiting for both models to be unleashed in July for the ultimate smartphone showdown.

The handset has its own line of state of the art weaponry in its inventory. The 1 GHz snapdragon processor along with the 3.7-inch AMOLED screen, which is fully touched, enabled. Along with this the phone has a WIFI GPS Bluetooth and other connectivity features.

The Incredible HTC

The Unlocked HTC ( Incredible ) is really incredible! Handling a few bumps is nothing, compared to what the Incredible can go through. Most phones can handle and survive small bumps and jerks. But the HTC Incredible goes far beyond that. Apparently, it has been found out that the Incredible can go through bonfires, and still work. And when you say work, you mean making calls, browse the web, etc. You name it, and the HTC Incredible can do it, after being in a fire. Whether it’s just a fluke or not, HTC has managed to make an exceptionally strong phone. If it had been any other phone, it would have met its end after spending time with some hot embers, but not the Incredible.

The HTC Incredible is invincible, when it comes to being in a fire. It only experiences some superficial damage. Its internal organs continue to work just like before, as if nothing has ever happened. And apart from being such a strong phone, it is also a piece of eye candy. It has a very nice 3.7 inches AMOLED WVGA-resolution touch screen, an eight megapixel camera with dual LED flash, 3G, Wi-Fi, 1 GHz processor, and Android 2.1, with Sense.

One gentleman when asked about the Incredible’s fire-resistant qualities, had this to say- “I was at the beach and had just lit a bonfire. One of my friends had just called me around 10 minutes after the fire had started and when lifting the phone, it fell in. the fire was around 200 degrees and I found half the screen in the sane. I removed the battery out and let it dry out for around an hour after which I was still able to go ahead surf the web and make calls.”

The HTC Incredible is a slate-style handset, and is very similar to the Google’s Unlocked Nexus One, when it comes to looks. It is a very lightweight handset. The backside of the Incredible has a rubbery finish, having a soft touch. But it is truly the strongest phone ever, and hopefully, we’ll see more handsets like this in the future.

Preview of the Fallen Earth Mobile edition for the iPhone and the Blackberry app release

The post apocalyptic online mega game known as Fallen Earth has finally come out for the iPhone and the Google’s Unlocked Nexus One Android as a companion app which you can use to better keep in touch with your clan mates on this game. We can give you certain preview screen shots of this app as it is released. Along with this we can also tell you that the Blackberry equivalent for the same has also come out which allows us get the same functionalities as the Android Companion app provides the user

Customers however need to be aware that this game is available for the users at a monthly subscription fee of $14.99 per month.

We here got a chance to take this game out for a test ride and we found that it was definitely worth the wait. As opposed to checking prior sent mails, this will allow you to receive in-game mails, buy or sell the items that you receive or even customize items. However, what we found most interesting is the feature which allows you to chat with the people who are online. Not only that, you can even check out the character profiles and the gear from the game. Hence we are totally recommending this update. However in terms of gamer friendliness this app does lack to some extent as it seems to focus to much on the staying in touch aspect of it rather than the gaming. This fact is corroborated by the fact that you have to log in every time you want to access anything.

In terms of the Blackberry’s Unlocked phone companion equivalent, we feel that it would have been better if the push mail function was used such that we could get the real time updates of other apps like the eBay app. However the Fallen Earth companion beats the World of Warcraft equivalent any day.

Documents can now be viewed with Google Docs on the Android and iPhone

Three years after its launch for desktop PC’s, Google Docs is now available on the mobile phone, although only on the Unlocked iPhone 4 and the Android users. This service was expected and it has been launched on a large scale. The one advantage it gives the users is that now you can edit documents on your mobile phone by using this application.

However before you edit, you will have to convert them to the Google Docs format. With this application, you can freely however view your PDF files, the .docx and .doc files on the go. This service is currently only available in English; however one can expect it to be available in other languages very soon.

The Google Docs mobile can be accessed from the web page, docs.google.com in your Nexus One unlocked gadget where you can check out the files that you have stored previously in PDF or .doc formats. Furthermore, with this format, you can zoom in or out from our document also on the iPhone and the iPad. With the Google Docs, you can actually use it to view and work on pre stored spreadsheets. This is great for small enterprises who often work for filing income reports on the fly. This really helps as the mobile tabulating softwares do cost a lot. It is really a bit of a surprise that the Google Docs are not available on the BlackBerry which however should be made available in due time.

Google has encouragingly done some amount of up gradation on the Google Doc to include all the recent formats. This has been officially released on the Google Docs blogs. You can store a number of documents up to 1 GB on the Google Docs portal and can access these files without having to download them directly from your mobile device which was not possible until very recently.

Android Market now has over 65,000 apps

With arrival of Google on the mobile scene, things were certain to change. So it comes as no surprise that many different developers have started creating a wide variety of applications specifically for this operating system. In fact, it has today been claimed that there are over 65,000 different applications that are available for users running Android on their smartphones. In fact, Google’s Andy Rubin has said that there are around 160,000 android activations taking place daily. This coupled with there being over 65,000 applications in the Android Market make Unlocked Google’s Nexus One Android operating system another priceless piece of software to have. Considering the fact that Android is only a couple of years old, has resulted in it being aptly termed a ‘revolution’.

A few months ago, it was revealed by Google that most devices of Android were being activated at around 100,000 per day. At that time, the total number of applications present was noted as 50,000. A few weeks later and these applications have increased by 15,000. These statistics are indication of the market share of the Android. Recent surveys have pegged Google Android as having a total market share of 33% by 2012. The past few months have seen a rapid rise in the number of Android based applications being made available for customers. In spite of the fact that Apples iPhone Unlocked Gadget is being put on the shelf, Google is not back down and when partnered together with various device manufacturers such as HTC and Motorola, you know that Apple will have to face some competition.  Considering the numerous applications available on Android seems to suggest that many do prefer it when choosing any   operating system. So the next time you plan on purchasing any mobile, it might be wise to ensure that you are getting the Android as the sheer numbers of applications available implies you will never be left wanting more.

The best looking Android-Robo?

With Google’s introduction into the mobile market sometime ago, people knew that things were about to change. Unlocked  Google’s Nexus One Android operating system is one of the most explosive operating systems to ever hit mobile phones and according to Google statistics, around 65,000 such phones are being shipped daily. In fact, it has been estimated that by 2012, around 33% of all mobiles in the world will be running this operating system. According to a video released by Google chief executive Eric Schmidt on YouTube, “It will not be long before Android is either number one or two when it comes to operating systems for mobiles.”

However, apart from the great services provided and applications available for download from the Android market, another feature most people love is the Android robot. One application most individuals are not aware of is the ability of controlling the Android robot on one’s desktop directly from their mobile phone. Compared to various Android toys and statue robots available in stores, the desktop application is by far the cutest robot you will ever find. This application that was created by Hideyuki Takei and Reo Matsumura bears a striking resemblance to Star Wars’ R2-D2 and can be controlled directly from your Android mobile phone. Through Bluetooth, you can use the controls of your mobile to control the hands, eyes as well as arms of the robot.

Even if you feel that in the 21st century no robot can compare to those we have seen in science fiction movies, this application is going to change your mind. Although this application has not yet been released for users to try out, when it will be released, you can have your very own robot in your home. This cute little robot is by far one of the best things that you can control with your mobile phone. This new Android robot is just what you need around the house, even if it cannot help you with your homework.
