The excitement with the new Unlocked Motorola Droid (X) reached a fever pitch when the new promotional videos were released along with the new Droid X ad which we all saw and now that the phone has finally arrived, there is much more that we can see and check out. This frenzy has especially been given wind to by the new advertisement which has come out on the DroidDoes web page which shows off the new Motorola Droid X.  This new advertisement is somewhat similar to the older ad with some changes in the end to bring more attention to the phone.

The new ad which has come out has a different ending has a hand going towards the rock matter and is met with a robotic arm which puts the new Droid X into the human hand. In terms of marketing strategy, we feel that this ad is pretty well made and the product does get a lot of attention. We would in fact go to the extent of saying that this promotional video is quite better than the rather insipid advertisements which the Unlocked  iPhone 4 had come out with. There are also certain gimmicks in this campaign which are pretty good if we must say so. In the video, you will see a text field which will tell you to put in a code. We tapped our sources and found out via Droid-Life who told us that the code is JXYDA QWQYD. Well what happens is that once you put this into the space, you are congratulated for the fact that you are super human. Furthermore it will tell you to keep checking again for updates. The functionality of this is still relatively unknown.

However it is somewhat surprising that this phone will not be getting that vigorous a marketing strategy as compared to the Droid phone. However whatever little we have seen is pretty encouraging.

TELUS has announced recently that they will be coming out with the Unlocked HTC (Desire) on their network which will bring 3G and many other features along with it. In terms of pricing, this phone will be comparable with the Nexus one but does not have that high a quality as compared to the Unlocked Motorola  Droid (X.) For the customers there will be an added plus of the Sense UI which will allow the customization of the home page. The US customers have a special chance to get their hands on this one by way of an import from Canada as this was not available on the US Cellular. They would have to import a European version otherwise.

As we said earlier, this phone will have the Sense UI coming with it and therefore you can then customize your phone in any way as it will be running on Android. There will be a number of changeable layouts and widgets, custom home screens and a large number of options which will allow you to enhance the performance of your Android device. The specs on this one are more or less the same as other Android models. As said earlier, the Desire will come with the new Android OS which is known as the Froyo or the Android 2.1. Other than this, there are also the usual features of the nature of GPS and Wi-Fi connectivity. As for performance, this phone does have a slight draw back as the Flash performance, we feel, is slightly lacking. The Sense layout is by far the best on the Android device and this is where the phone scores above the Nexus one unlocked handset.

There is no official date which has been set for this phone’s release. However, since it will be coming with the back to school collection, we can assume that it will show up before August.
