HTC Claims Apple Sues Instead of Innovating
The company HTC is making a claim that Apple, instead of innovating in the mobile marketplace, is simply suing competitors in an effort to get ahead in that way. The company is in the middle of a number of patent battles with Apple, and the president of the company, Eric Schmidt, said that he is going to ensure that the company does not lose these patent battles to Apple. The company is claiming that HTC, a Taiwanese company, is currently in violation of two different patents, and has asked that Google health HTC to pay fees that are associated with a guilty ruling in this case.
To say the least, it will be interesting to see what happens with the pending patent battles. Google could potentially help HTC to pay in the event that they lose and are forced to deal with a theme that will have been attempting to extract from a number of different companies. These licensing fees would be for every device such as unlocked HTC Inspire, HTC Desire, etc.. that they have released that is rolled me infringing on the patent technology that is owned by Apple. They have been able to put together an excellent campaign with many users hoping that HTC is not found to be in violation.
Google, is also fighting these claims that Apple has made to ensure that their base continues to grow by the 550,000 Android smartphone activations per day that the company has reported. HTC continues to attack Apple in public, claiming that they have failed to innovate in recent years and as a result have resorted to legal battles in order to hold up other companies in this space.
It will be interesting to see how the entire case turns out when it comes to an end. Apple is currently deadlocked with a number of companies over patent infringements in recent years, but there is no way to tell whether or not they should come out ahead.
