Google to Release its Answer to Siri

By John Castell

Google to Release its Answer to Siri

Just in time for holiday parties, Apple unleashed its iPhone 4S on the masses. This optimist’s belief is that Apple was being very considerate in providing hosts and guests alike the perfect party trick: Siri.  It certainly provided an hour of entertainment at my last dinner party… although Siri did not answer any of my questions in a satisfactory manner.   Leaving your valuable mobile devices unprotected is risky!  Discover the latest stylish top brand bags, sleeves and cases which allow you to protect your devices from scratches and blemishes with our.  Tough on the outside, sweet on the inside these innovative  protection solution accessories combine complete device coverage with sleek artistic expression.

Hopefully, Google’s up and coming counterpart will have a better sense of humor. Rumor has it that the Android solution which would amp up the capabilities of “Voice Actions” on their smartphones and close the competitive gap that Siri created. AndroidandMe recently reported that the project is referred to by the code name “Majel” and could be released as early as the end of this year. As this technology will amp up smartphone usage even more, customers should be sure to use the latest in hands-free device such as Bluetooth headsets or BlueTooth Car Kits when taking advantage of this technology while driving (especially with amped up holiday patrols and tricky weather conditions).

Along the same lines as Siri, Majel is said to use the same method of conversational speech to issue queries in lieu of having to make use of limited compatible commands. The freshman release doesn’t look to allow end-users to control the phone or its installed applications, but that functionality may be in the pipeline for sometime next year. This is great for expanding the scope of hands-free technologies available on the market for both Android and Apple mobile devices.  Discover an extensive selection of the latest lithium technology replacement cell phone and wireless devices batteries.  Ensure your device is powered by brand name batteries for longer operating life.

Google to Release its Answer to Siri

For the moment, Majel is still a rumor, but Google’s actions all seem to have iOS and Apple in its sights to take down as competition, so… it is likely a very credible rumor. In fact, on Tuesday they announced the acquisition of Clever Sense (the developer of “Alfred,” a personal assistant software). We are still vague on whether Alfred (who IS quite similar to Siri) will be integrated into the first Majel launch (we can say with certainty that Alfred will not clean the bat cave or pick up dry cleaning).   Enhance your mobility… turn your device into a power tool.  Discover select memory and electronic accessories specifically designed to make your devices functionally efficient and performance rich.

For those Android users who have Siri envy that needs to be assuaged now, there are a couple third party assistant apps available in the Android marketplace (easily found by searching “Cluzee” or “Iris”). Otherwise, keep a running list of all your Majel questions for when it is made available in the coming weeks or months!   Break away from long -term service provider contracts… enjoy the freedom of unlocked cell phones.

Non-iPhone 4 Devices Now Have Email-based applications that are a simple dream

Apple Inc is an American MNC (Multinational Corporation) that designs computer hardware, computer software, consumer electronics and personal computers. Apple is famous for some of its hardware products like the iPod, the iPhone, the Macintosh computers and the iPad. Its software products are equally famous all over the world namely Mac OS X, the iLife, the media browser iTunes, the iWork, the Aperture etc.

June 29, 2007 was the day the iPhone was launched by Apple. The hardware engineers had realized the need of a cutting edge operating system for smooth-running of the iPhone. So they came out with iOS, which was previously known as iPhone OS. Now iOS runs on both iPad and iPod. Regular updates to the OS for the iPad, iPhone4 and iPod Touch are provided by Apple through iTunes. This is an exceptional feature of the iPhone and it gives the iDevices an edge over other mobiles and devices.

On August 3rd, 2010 Apple released the latest update to iOS 4 beta and the SDK corresponding to it. This brings the current edition of both to iOS 4.1 beta 3.

The latest in news is that iOS 4 beta 3 has announced that people can now avail of FaceTime via email. Earlier FaceTime was only available in phone calls and in the contacts list. Now the display is such that in the Contact’s app, an email option appears on the screen besides the usual phone number option to start a call. This might make FaceTime the future of iOS devices which are fitted with front-facing cameras.

It is believed that Apple is preparing to use at least one front-facing camera that is compatible with FaceTime for the iPod Touch of the next generation. Rumors say it will be introduced next month. Several pictures of iPods have surfaced that claim to be the generation-next iPod. Speculations have also risen regarding Apple’s iPad having a front-facing camera, although such speculations are mere words and not backed by any substantial evidence. It would be all the more better if Apple takes a step forward and allows its customers to make FaceTime calls over 3G without downloading third-party applications or jailbreaking our own devices.

Android to get MobiForms Mobile Sync Server support

After the success of the RAD or the Rapid Application Developer tool from MobiForms, which was supported on the Android it is now the turn of the MobiForms Sync Server which now will be able to run on the Android OS like the Nexus One unlocked. Therefore you can now use this rapid acceleration software to create any sort of mobile application from all kinds of portable devices which have the Android OS running on it.

Multifunctional in nature, the specs of this software are much better in comparison to any precursors and the other likenesses which are there or have been there in the market. Good news for developers as this allows for very good standard of synchronization and data replication from any kind of server which has Oracle Server or Oracle Lite, Microsoft Access etc on it to any mobile device which is running on Android or any windows based mobile device. The MobiForms Sync Server (MSS) is compatible with some types of servers which run either on Oracle, Access, SQL Server, IBM DB2, My SQL and some others which are there.

How will this enhance the speed of creation of apps? Well with the MSS you can actually enhance the speed of building mobile phone apps and bypass the hassles of Java programming which otherwise can be of some time delay as it takes a large amount of coding to come up with the ultimate end product. However, with MobiForms you can use its smart drag and drop features to set up the app and voila you are on your way.

The MobiForms Sync Server is one part of the advanced designer which allows you to construct the entire of processes needed to develop the Android based apps. The one is really something for developers to take note of.

Teens given new Windows 7 smartphones

For all those people who were looking to have their hands on the new Windows 7, we have some bad news for you. The company after a recent new game having been developed decided to gift the kids this new phone which comes with the new operating system. Heart breaking for us mortals, we know.

Recently a new game called Droid assault was created by these two teens for the Windows phone which will be used by the company in a major way to promote their new device which they are priding on its gaming efficiency. The names of these kids are Eric Lo who is 16 and Christian Hood who is 17. We are really for them. However in terms of promotion, this gimmick was primarily to show off how easy it is really to develop games for this platform. The kids made this game for a PC and then smartly used a WiFi remote combined by Bluetooth to the phone’s accelerometer. It’s pretty easy to use it on the phone and we definitely recommend it.

We had come to hear about some amount of new 3D game technology coming up and this new Windows 7 phone which uses Silverlight and XNA 4.0 will help you achieve this dream along with the Xbox Live Integration which will also bring this feature. Soon you will be able to actually start some games on the phone and then go over to the Xbox or the PC. Now this is what you mean by gaming integration.

Although there are no words on the specs of this unlocked phone, we know that it will look much like the Samsung Windows 7 phone that we had managed to catch a sneak peak of some months ago. This phone may be out as early as October.

The wireless broadband will be provided through the Advanced Wireless Services and there will be other bands whichwill be made available really soon. Shaw plans to launch its broadband services through their operations in this sector by the end of 2011.

This announcement comes after Shaw won 18 licenses when they spent $189 million in the auction for the Canadian Wireless Spectrum. Furthermore, the company has also said that they will be increasing their spending and investments in this sector. Shaw’s CEO and Vice Chairman Jim Shaw had remarked in April after securing the rights for the Wireless Spectrum saying, “We are accelerating our Wireless Capital spent and expect to invest $100 million in the fiscal 2010”. Released as the Samsung Epic 4G in the USA this great smart phone from Samsung will be released with any one of the major carriers of the country. We had earlier reported that this will be released by Bell but the Samsung Galaxy S “Vibrant” will soon be made available on carriers like TELUS or Rogers. Samsung has released an official statement in this relation where they have said “Canadian consumers can anticipate the release of additional Galaxy S smartphones throughout the rest of 2010.” This is really encouraging news for consumers in the country.

Motorola Charm brings in Old world Charm

If you were wondering what the sources of the hardware were for T-mobile’s messaging phone line up, then 99 percent chances are that it’s from the Samsung line. But a pleasant surprise comes in the form of the Motorola charm, which is the most interesting exception to this rule. Along with this piece of news comes good news. The Motorola (Unlocked Droid) Android phone will be offered for free by the T-Mobile Company as a Carriers back-to-back school promotional program. Very recently we have received confirmed news that the QWERTY slider will have the Android technology along with Android operating Systems in Magenta’s armory, which also provides for affordable messaging phones.

The Magenta line of phones has used old world nostalgia in their ad campaigns for the marketing of their recent line of products. They have shown in their advertisements that parents of children go to school instead of the children. These new ad campaigns have taken the people by surprise and they are quite upbeat about the new Magenta gizmo that is to be out this July.

For those of you unaware of the messaging phones or so called dumb phones or feature phones, these devices are only good when it comes to their text messaging capabilities. They don’t feature any of the smartphone capabilities like that of the smartphone OS or the webOS or Android OS or Blackberry OS or any other such operating systems. But one that they do provide is the full QWERTY keyboard.

But here lies the difference between the Motorola Charm and the old age feature phones. This phone provides with the Android Operating system while giving a full QWERTY keyboard instead of the new smartphone high-resolution touch screen keypad. In this process it mixes nostalgia with smart technology. But it’s still to be seen if it can make profits in the market.

iPhone now to get Windows Live Messenger

It has been stated that even Microsoft Corporation is siding with the Unlocked iPhone 4 by launching a new Windows Live Messenger application specifically meant for it.  Apart from Canada, only three other countries have the ability of downloading it directly from Apple’s app store. These include the US, UK and France. This application from Microsoft is completely free of cost to download and with it users will have the capability of updating their social status. There is even an added option that allows users to see their friends as well as start photo sharing. It has been proposed by Microsoft that in future they will also integrate support for Facebook, LinkedIn and MySpace.

This soon-to-be-released iPhone Messenger will have all the required functionalities of the desktop version of Windows Live Messenger. In fact, it is claimed that the iPhone version will be a smaller companion for the desktop version. According to Microsoft Corporation, “We have worked extremely hard in ensuring that this Messenger application for the iPhone is extremely easy to use, yet at the same time can provide users all their desired functionality. To make it recognizable and desirable to iPhone users, we decided to preserve the native iPhone colors and user interface. We also plan on having future integration of Live Messenger with MySpace, Facebook and even LinkedIn.”

Most individuals make use of mobile phones so as to capture ideal moments that can then be shared amongst friends and family. With the social tab, you will be together with your friends throughout and their status can be displayed along with pictures and other links they have used. There are several filters you can use such as ‘status message’ or ‘photos’ to easily find what you want. With this application from Microsoft, all you have to do is to simply tap the iPhone a few times and you would have immediately created your own photo status.
