Research In Motion has always remained mostly silent about their smart phone release schedule. However, a roadmap recently leaked online that shows the companies upcoming plans. According to the new roadmap that recently made its way online, the company is planning to release the Curve 9330 sometime during the middle of the first quarter of 2011. This will be followed by the Playbook, which the company will be devoting the entire second quarter to, according to the timeline.
In the third quarter, the road map shows that the unlocked BlackBerry cell phones (Montana and Monaco) will be coming during the middle of the quarter. On the roadmap, the devices are shown above and below one another, which would suggest that they could potentially be released at the same time, or at least relatively close to one another. As per the one of the leading unlocked cell phone blog site, with millions of people anxiously awaiting the release of the RIM BlackBerry Playbook, a new video has been released that shows that Research In Motion’s new device will be able to smoothly run HTML 5, which is a feature that is not seen in many other tablets at this present juncture. RIM announced today that they were launching the new Amazon.com Amazon MP3 app that is going to be available for all unlocked BlackBerry phones. Amazon currently has a complete catalog of more than 14 million songs overall, giving BlackBerry users the ability to purchase nearly any MP3 that they can think of.
Along with the ability to buy the music, Amazon will also be offering the ability to browse; preview and download the free MP3’s that are currently available through the platform. As of right now, any downloading will have to be done through a Wi-Fi connection, and not over the service providers’ network. Most of the music will be separated into numerous sub genes that make it easy to find the music you are looking for including top songs, albums, and the deals of the day.

It has not even been a fortnight that the BlackBerry  Unlocked Torch 9800 was launched, and already RIM is ready to bring to the market, a new smart phone having the new operating system. BlackBerry’s 9670 Oxford Clamshell, has been seen previously seen in plenty of live shots before and now, developers who are registered have been given access to a device simulator which shows that a launch is not too far away and might be made available in the market much earlier than you thought. Google Android is finally here! Well it actually arrived a good time back when Google officially launched it. However, sales figures now have actually proved that the Android is indeed here. Brace yourselves ladies and gentlemen. The Android sales figures have outpaced figures posted by Apple for it’s unlocked iPhone4 in the global market. Another jolt awaits in the next sentence. India is now threatening a complete shutdown of the BlackBerry cell phone Service by August 31st, if RIM fails to comply with the security demands put forward by the Government of India. The last round of negotiations, between the two parties, was shaky to say the least. A similar situation had threatened similar consequences with the United Arab Emirates echoing calls for a complete shutdown of services from RIM, however the situation has been temporarily pacified since RIM started the set up of local servers. Even then a ban may well be a possibility with the UAE giving RIM some more time to meet their security demands. Due to its encryption capabilities, Indonesia wants a ban on Research in Motion’s BlackBerry.
In a way, RIM’s punishment is for being too secure. The data generated in a BlackBerry is encrypted twice, first on the device itself and then on RIM’s servers. Not even the maker of the BlackBerry cell phone can access the data and that is the reason behind it being so popular with different enterprises.
The governments of different Asian counties say that they need to track and access data on these devices in order to prevent terrorist activities and barricade their coordination, but that doesn’t imply that it has right to spy on its citizens.

There have been a lot of recent issues with governments tanking the BlackBerry in favor of two of the direct market competitors of this phone, the HTC smartphones and even the unlocked iPhone4. This will definitely be a big dent on the image of the BlackBerry in the international market. What has compounded their worries is that recently the European Union has also joined several of the Middle Eastern governments in chucking the BlackBerry for their employees and they will be using the iPhone and the HTC smartphones instead of the RIM product.
