TELUS will be upping the prices of their 411 Directory Assistance service for unlocked cell phone users such as Samsung Galaxy S, as well as their pay per use rates for texting on August 10th of this year. This is a bit odd considering the company drastically dropped their international roaming rates just earlier in the week, and now it looks like they will be making up for it in other ways with their 411 Directory Assistance pricing as well as the pricing of their text.
To start, the price of their directory assistance service will be going up from $2.00 all the way up to $2.50, which is seen as a huge increase for a service that is quite popular. As of right now, their pay per text service is costing users a total of $0.15 per message, and that will be going up five cents as well. The new changes will not go into effect until August 10th, so users have quite a bit of time to adapt their habits to the change.

They have not even placed this information on their website as of yet, and the company has said that they are going to be notifying their user base on their wireless bill at the end of this next month. At the very least, it will be interesting to see if the users are alright with this kind of price hike. It seems as if the company is dropping their prices in some areas, but is continuing to up it in others.

Hopefully these price hikes, for the sake of their users, do not reflect a company wide change in pricing policy moving forward at this time. TELUS has drastically cut their prices from the level they were at just a year ago and you can expect their prices to continue to change with the ebb and flow of the mobile industry such as (unlocked Motorola Atrix) we have seen over the course of the last few days.

For the past months, there have been rumors swirling around about a “Nexus Two” releasing soon by Samsung and Google. Finally, all of these rumors are coming true. Many people thought that this rumored Android would look exactly like the Unlocked Galaxy S device. By this, they meant that it would have a 4 inch display with a camera on the front. A leading cell phone mobile blog said that “It’s black and shiny, built with glossy plastic. Up close, though, it’s got this curve to it.” PC Magazine also said that there was a new Nexus device in the making that would be released in the near future. This device would not be called the “Nexus Two” though.

Just recently, there has been a new device that people have seen in a store called Best Buy labeled as the “Nexus S.” Many people have said that it looks exactly like the Galaxy S, with a camera on the front and Android running. Does this sound familiar? As you recall, these are what the rumors were. So far, the people that have bought this device have been very happy with their purchase. Those people that switched from the Galaxy S to this unlocked cellphone have also been happy as well; there were not many changes that they had to make in terms of working the phone, so obviously it was a smooth transition. Some people like buying completely different phones, but others just assume to get something quite similar as long as it has some upgraded features. The people that have bought this phone also say that the outside is a little bit different than the Galaxy S as well. If you are looking to make the switch, I think that it would be a good move. You will most definitely not regret making the switch.
