It's the most explosive development in the tablet market since the release of the original iPad and the latest apple tablet the iPad2. The launch of the Amazon Kindle Fire represents a major shot across the bow at Apple, according to a new ChangeWave survey which primarily targeted North American consumers.
According to ChangeWave demand for tablets this holiday season is three (3) times higher than for the same period last year.
It seems that today, shoppers have broadened their tablet interest from to include the Kindle Fire from Amazon... you can view more in this consumer demand survey
The more interesting stat, perhaps, is that more than a quarter of respondents in ChangeWave’s survey who confirmed an imminent Kindle Fire purchase said they would buy the Amazon tablet in place of an iPad.
“Tablet providers (Iconia, Xoom, Flyer, Galaxy Tab, PlayBook, etc) have failed to gain appreciable traction against iPad’s [...]

It is already known at the Apple iPad has a stranglehold on the tablet market at this time. However a recent analyst by the name of Sanford Bernstein has stated that the device will continue to dominate the tablet market as a whole, and will become the most popular tablet and the world looking forward. The analysis firm released a 49 page report that stated that the Apple iPad will continue to become more popular. Throughout the report they noted that the Apple iPad had managed to sell more than 19.5 million units throughout the first year that the device was available. This is more than twice the amount of unlocked iPhone 4 said the company was able to sell throughout their first year. If anything, they should be taken as an indication of where the market is heading, and also the popularity of tablets right out of the gate.
The [...]

Rumours are circulating across the internet that Dell are set to announce the development of several different sized tablets to compete with the recent Apple success the iPad. It's been known for the last couple of weeks that Dell have been working on a seven inch Android powered tablet but now it seems this will be the first of many, with later tablets set to measure 11inches or bigger.
This is a natural development in the new market created by the development of the iPad and with the Androids traditionally more open App network it's likely we'll see tablets being utilised for a variety of different uses than currently available with the iPad.
One of the biggest issues many consumers have with the iPad is the 'closed garden' app store it runs. This stops third-parties creating free apps that do the same as apple apps which can be relatively expensive. With Android [...]

Due to some unknown reason, China had a law that disallowed the shipping of Wi-Fi devices; rather you had to use the version indigenous to China called WAPI. WAPI is a special wireless designation much like Wi-Fi that could potentially allow the Chinese government to eavesdrop on every transmission made. This was done according to the government to keep a check and as they say due to threat from other countries. This event is not something new. Because of their pride and unwillingness to pay royalty fees, the Chinese, invariably have copied a Western Standard and made it their own.
Nevertheless, the news: Soon, the official unlocked iPhone4 reseller of China, China Unicom, will be permitted to sell the models currently available in the West, which implies that they will finally be Wi-Fi enabled. As the black market for imported iPhones is rather large the operator was encouraging this quite enthusiastically.
As [...]

This is something which is always close to our heart for the people who have been into gaming when they were small. This will surely be the case when the new Space Invaders HD releases as a game on the Apple app store and can be used on the iPad. This version of Taito’s very popular game Space Invaders had released on the unlocked iPhone 4 but this new HD version is slightly different which can only be used on the iPad. Furthermore, this is not some kind of evolution of the new and improved Space Invaders Infinity which is not the original version of the game which we are pretty fond of. If we may say, this recreation of the older game is pretty good and we really like it when some classic game is recreated like this.
This game is of course slightly different from the version which was [...]

Apple finally announced the iPad. This will be Apple's attempt into the tablet market. Since they announced it there has been a lot of praise about it, but there is also one major downside. There is no flash on the Apple iPad. This is a problem because it doesn't allow people to check out flash websites or play flash games.
While Engadget was at the press conference they snapped a picture showing the blue missing plugin icon.
This isn't a completely unexpected move by Apple considering the iPhone and iPod Touch don't have flash either, but everyone really wants it.
I guess only time will tell if we will get it, but for now we want to know what our readers think
