Apple Inc is an American MNC (Multinational Corporation) that designs computer hardware, computer software, consumer electronics and personal computers. Apple is famous for some of its hardware products like the iPod, the iPhone, the Macintosh computers and the iPad. Its software products are equally famous all over the world namely Mac OS X, the iLife, the media browser iTunes, the iWork, the Aperture etc.

June 29, 2007 was the day the iPhone was launched by Apple. The hardware engineers had realized the need of a cutting edge operating system for smooth-running of the iPhone. So they came out with iOS, which was previously known as iPhone OS. Now iOS runs on both iPad and iPod. Regular updates to the OS for the iPad, iPhone4 and iPod Touch are provided by Apple through iTunes. This is an exceptional feature of the iPhone and it gives the iDevices an edge over other mobiles and devices.

On August 3rd, 2010 Apple released the latest update to iOS 4 beta and the SDK corresponding to it. This brings the current edition of both to iOS 4.1 beta 3.
The latest in news is that iOS 4 beta 3 has announced that people can now avail of FaceTime via email. Earlier FaceTime was only available in phone calls and in the contacts list. Now the display is such that in the Contact’s app, an email option appears on the screen besides the usual phone number option to start a call. This might make FaceTime the future of iOS devices which are fitted with front-facing cameras.
It is believed that Apple is preparing to use at least one front-facing camera that is compatible with FaceTime for the iPod Touch of the next generation. Rumors say it will be introduced next month. Several pictures of iPods have surfaced that claim to be the generation-next iPod. Speculations have also risen regarding Apple’s iPad having a front-facing camera, although such speculations are mere words and not backed by any substantial evidence. It would be all the more better if Apple takes a step forward and allows its customers to make FaceTime calls over 3G without downloading third-party applications or jailbreaking our own devices.

Though it’s quite evident that the Android market does have its ups and downs along with its numerous loopholes yet ironically it manages to get the net result to be on their side. The bottom-line: they get the job done. And if the recent performance charts are anything to go by then it definitely indicates the booming Android Smartphone (Google Nexus One Unlocked) industries market. They seem to have taken the world by storm with their technology.

The marketers’ of the Android technology has used a masterstroke by giving new definition to the word ‘free’. Generally when any company provides anything with its product as ‘free’ then it’s a general notion of the customers that it is expendable. But Android technology has made a huge proportion of their applications that are compatible and can be installed in their smart phones free. This Android market has the highest portion of free applications in any of the mobile applications store in the world. The free applications that the Android makers boast off comprise of a full 57 percent of the entire market place. As it is an application, which is free, and not a product hence customers are not really feeling that it’s of lesser quality. In this process the developers attract more customers with the ‘free’ tag. Hence ironically the makers are making more money by selling stuff for free.

But truth be told, the free applications that stream out from the Android market may cost a lot less than its Apple iPhone4 counterparts but they lack the finesse and the beauty of the applications that are available on the Apps store. But the cheap price tag does help in getting itself a lot of customers. The Android applications are sold at $3.29 whereas the average price of some of the best appearance software from that of an App store costs around $4.27.

As the big names in the market move to eradicate their errors, Apple being possibly the biggest name in the market, has confirmed its predicament over the reception problem in a statement notifying its users that they can return their Unlocked iPhone4 within a month, if unsatisfied. In a move that clearly signified Apple was making amends for the technical hitch suffered by their users and preserving the good name of Apple, the company stated that their iPhone customers will not be charged with the restocking fee if they want to return their gadgets. This came to effect when buyers all over complained of reception problem they had met. Apple reportedly said that unsatisfied customers would also be eligible for one hundred percent refund if their iPhone were to be returned within a month to any Apple store or its online version.

This did not bode well with Apple’s company policy, which under normal circumstances demands a return fee of about ten percent of the original buy. The Apple generally demands an amount of just fewer than twenty dollars for the iPhone 4’s 16GB version and just fewer than thirty dollars for the 32GB one. An Apple care spokesperson assured that the 10 percent fee that would have been normally charged has been revoked. The fee charged with restocking also has a role to play as it has a pivotal role when it comes to the numerous lawsuits filed against the company, which allegedly brought in faulty iPhone 4s for their customers.

Almost right away after the grand launch of the Apple iPhone 4 complains seemed to fly in about difficulties faced while calling and weak data signal. By the following day even Apple was sympathetic towards their users acknowledging the problem that gripping the iPhone 4 while on a call can weaken the reception and can bring down the signal. Apple could only provide with a few traditional and crude way of solving these problems.
