Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 rumored to launch on Rogers within two weeks
April 19th, 2010Even though interest in the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 has seemed to wane a little after this week’s official announcement that multitouch will never be a feature of the device due to a hardware limitation this will not stop Rogers from continuing to push the XPERIA X10. According to the website MobileSyrup Rogers has narrowed down the release window for the Android smartphone to the week of April 7th to 14th and assigned tentative pricing. It looks like this newest Android device could be had for as low as $149.99 with a contract of course. Rogers had previously stated they would be offering pre-orders, which has yet to happen, which makes us think they better get a move on it if they expect to release this phone in as little as six days.
While the announcement that multitouch would never be a feature of this new device was a bit of a downer it should not deter many consumers from scooping up the latest Android phone from Sony Ericsson. The XPERIA X10 is expected to have all of the great features that we have grown to expect from the various Android devices and then some. The contract price of $149.99 is also very reasonable and in line with comparable devices on the market today. I hope that MobileSyrup’s rumor of a launch date between April 7th and 14th is accurate because the wait has been long enough for this device to hit store shelves. If you are a customer of the Rogers wireless network I would highly recommend checking out a version of this new Android phone for yourself and consider making the switch. I am sure that you will be glad that you did.
