Samsung Corby: Wi-Fi Enabled
January 4th, 2010News from the grapevine folks! Samsung will be releasing its Wi-Fi enabled handset soon and it is called the Samsung Corby. This news is still unofficial though so we might be waiting for a couple of months more.
The budget-oriented handset is the revamped version of the Samsung S3650W Corby and 3 million of which has already been shipped to unspecified locations. Following the Samsung Star, the Corby was spotted on Wi-Fi alliance just recently so this proves that the unlocked cell phone is on its way to store shelves around the globe.

Even if the American market is still waiting for the Samsung Corby, there is news that the phone is already in Portugal and most probably in other parts of Europe as well. According to a certain Luis Aguilar, a phone enthusiast, the Corby has already been released in the market under TMN a Portuguese operator. According to Aguilar, who is probably a Portuguese person, the Corby released under TMN comes with Wi-Fi, 3G capability along with new keys made exclusively for the phone’s MP3 player. Aguilar also said that the device is affordable and it is only 149.90 euro.
After doing a little bit of research, the Samsung Cell Phone (Corby) really is in Portuguese shores already and it is called the Samsung M5650 Lindy –Lindy somehow popped into existence and no one is sure if this is Corby’s sister. Lindy has the same features, it also has Wi-Fi connectivity, and you can make 3G calls –which are rather great.
Corby having a twin sister is somehow unexpected because Lindy just tiptoed into the picture all of a sudden. Their older brother only operated in a 2G network but basically his two younger siblings have the same dimensions along with Cartoon UI, digital natural sound engine, microSD, snapper smile detection, SMS, MMS, Email, etc.
