Rogers Has the New Samsung Corby Touch All To Itself
August 10th, 2010Rogers Communications Inc., one of Canada’s largest communication companies, dealing mainly with wireless communications, is set to launch a new Corby phone. It has its headquarters in Toronto, Ontario. In November 2004 the company purchased Fido and created Canada’s largest wireless carrier which surpassed Bell Mobility. They soon started operating on the High Speed Packet Access commonly known as HSPA and GSM. Even if Rogers had achieved a lot of success they were criticised because their voice calls and data prices were comparatively higher than other OECD markets.
After the Unlocked Samsung Corby Pro and Samsung Corby Plus,Rogers is launching another Corby named Samsung Corby Touch T566. Samsung has especially designed this phone for the Canadian company Rogers. This phone like all the other Corby phones has a touchscreen which has a virtual QWERTY keypad, 2.0 Mega Pixel camera with 2X zoom, HTML browser, TouchWiz, Java : MIDP 2.1, a MP3 music player, microSD expansion till 32GB, voice recognition system and Bluetooth connectivity. The battery is superb and allows one to talk on like for 400 hours of standby time (on 3G). Corby’s changeable colourful fashion jackets are really stylish. Nowadays youngsters match their phones and dresses.
The cell phone also has 21 new convenient widgets and users can download maximum of 75 from the official Samsung website. It’s also preloaded with social networking sites like Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, Picassa and YouTube. The phone has not yet been launched on any carrier website but most probably Rogers is set to launch it on Pay As You Go for quite a decent price.
The company’s first products were radios and it was mainly involved with radio broadcasting. It was founded by Edward S. Rogers Sr. and was initially called Rogers Radio Broadcasting Limited. Later on the company moved into wireless communications and telephone services.
