Do Telus Sim Cards Work With iPhone Clones

November 13th, 2009

The jury is out on whether Telus SIM cards work with all of the versions of SciPhone, HiPhones and other iPhone impersonators on the market. Since the success of the iPhone has been so marked, many manufacturers have climbed on board and produced replica cell phones that are similar to the iPhones in many ways. Some owners of an iPhone clone even insist that their version of the iPhone is better in many ways than the genuine artifact.

Telus

Telus is a leading communication company based in British Columbia in Canada. This corporation is one that provides a vast array of communication products as well as communication services that include, among other things, data and Internet protocol service. They do not currently offer services within the United States. Around the year 2000, the Telus company, through a merger acquired a Scarborough Ontario based cellular phone company called Clearnet Communications. This purchase gave Telus a place in the competitive cellular service market of central Canada. They offer SIM cards to allow users access to their cell phone services. What cell phones actually work with the Telus SIM cards is a question that can usually be answered by the cell phone service provider or found in the information that a customer receives with their cell phone purchase. If the information is not available, the phone manufacturer should have provided a way in which they can be reached to answer such questions.

iPhones actually have integrated SIM cards, which cannot be removed, so the use of outside issued SIM cards is not an option. Some iPhone replicas have their own SIM cards and others do not. For those that do not have an integrated card, Telus or other SIM cards ought to work with them, but one would have to check with the manufacturer of that particular brand of cell phone. An off brand cell phone is not necessarily similar in its internal mechanisms and technological features as the brand of cell phone that it is trying to emulate.
