The Consumer Electronics Show of 2011 was one that confirmed that the unlocked Samsung Nexus S Google will be making its way to Canada. At the time, it was not clear what providers the phone would be coming to, but the Samsung electronic Canada Vice President Paul Brennan was very straight forward when he said that the device would be making its way to Canada as well.
It will be carried on a number of different Canadian providers including Bell, Rogers, Mobilicity and Wind as well as others. The Wind Mobile is Canada’s newest wireless carrier. It has just received permission from the Canadian government to begin operations. It is formatted to work with Blackberry 9700, HTC Maple, Huawei181 data stick, Samsung Gravity 2, and Huawei U7519.

Wind Mobile is making itself very, very attractive to customers. To begin with, it is offering its handsets at cost, giving customers a welcome up front savings. These handsets begin at $130 for the Huawei U7519. Other handsets available are the Samsung cell phone (Gravity) for $150, the HTC Maple for $300, and the Blackberry Bold 9700 for $450. Of course, the most obvious way WIND did this is by offering services at previously unheard of and unavailable rates. For so long the three major companies that have controlled the market, Rogers, TELUS and Bell have had the whole field to themselves and without any competition from a forward thinking competitive source, they have pretty much operated however they wanted.
