In some potentially interesting news to Facebook’s 400 million users the social media giant announced plans to introduce a new location sharing feature that will allow people to show their current location.  Through Facebook’s news feed users will be able to share their location while also viewing the location of their friends.  Facebook also plans to make this feature available to third parties who wish to enable location features within their own Facebook apps.
While it is not exactly known how this new feature will be brought to mobile devices it is believed that Facebook will utilize the GPS functionality of phones such as Blackberry cell phones, Windows Mobile, Android and iPhone unlocked.  Using a mobile device’s current GPS technology will be an easy way for Facebook to integrate this new product for people to enjoy on their mobile devices.

The Nokia cell phone division seems to be scraping Symbian S60 by replacing it by Maemo on all its flagship N-series smartphones in future and the transition might take place by 2012.
At an official Maemo-only event at London, marketing personnel of Maemo reportedly revealed that Nokia is planning to drop S60 OS from its top positions. It will be replaced by Maemo, which is an advanced mobile platform. It is Linux based with higher functionalities for mobile computing.While Symbian is not being dropped, it is just being replaced on top-brands by Maemo. Symbian OS will power new X-series and E-series smartphones while Maemo 5 will power N-series top-end. Although further Symbian powered N-series handsets will be available in market for times to come.

The arrival of the much anticipated Bell HSPA network has many people buzzing about what options will be available. News on the Internet spreads quickly and the team over at Boy Genius Report got a hold of the initial launch list of HSPA phones that Bell will support and sell. That's right Rogers Communications has just released their new high speed HSPA+ network.  The new network runs at 21Mbps.  This is good news for high speed downloading on wireless devices like laptops and cell phones.

Right now the 21Mbps HSPA+ network is only available in Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto, Calgary and Vancouver but Rogers Communications does plan on expand

Another downside is technically their are no cell phones on the network that take advantage of the 21Mbps HSPA+ network, but Rogers Communication has released a new Mobile Internet Stick that will.
