Statistical data continues to highlight the fact that cell phone and smart phone usage is still on the rise in Canada... you can find a study on both Canadian and USA stats here.
This trend has socio-economic consequences that look to be increasingly, well...consequential. A report released by comScore reflects that there are now 20.1 million Canadians who use either a feature phone or smartphone. The subtext is that these increases will more gradually reflect in increased usage of  protective solutions and premium electronic accessories as consumer's realize the importance to protect, personalize and enhance their high-priced mobile devices .
One of the most shocking statistics was the 7% jump in Canadians who transitioned from a regular feature phone to a smartphone over the past 6 months.  Smartsphones now account for 40% of the market.  Moreover, this shift has also sparked an increase in horizontal markets including mobile accessories, applications [...]

Black Friday and Cyber Monday are typically two of the biggest shopping days of the year, and as consumers continue to use mobile devices more frequently to make online purchases, 2011 is shaping up to be huge for online shopping. A new study from ad network InMobi found that an estimated 60 million people will use a mobile device for online bargain-hunting this coming Black Friday and Cyber Monday, and 21 million of them will make purchases on their devices and associated mobile accessories.

Telus is going to be donating $25 for every time they sell a Pink Curve 9360. The phone will be paying, which is the customary color for breast cancer research over the course of the last few years. The company first announced a few weeks ago that they would be introducing a pink version of the unlocked Blackberry phone, but did not announce exactly what their plans were at the time.
The announcement was made in conjunction with the highly popular breast cancer awareness month, which has been embraced by a number of pro-sporting organizations that have embraced it including the NFL. Facebook will be launching a brand-new music service on September 22. The company has Is fairly close to themselves and have not revealed anything about the new upcoming music service at the time. There is no news on whether this new music service will be streaming subscription service, or will just be a storefront that is similar to iTunes on unlocked iPhone 4 straight on the Facebook website. It is going to be interesting to see what kind of service they launch, as many of the large companies in the world are looking to launch their own music services right now. It has been suggested that perhaps Facebook or look to integrate other companies and third-party services such as Spotify into their already launched framework.

A recent survey that was noted by Best Buy mobile shows that more than 50%, in fact 54% of students currently use their phone such as unlocked LG Mobile P970 Optimus Black Titanium mostly for texting. This does not come as much as a surprise; everyone knows how common texting is among young users. It was announced that more than 18 billion text messages were sent during the second quarter of 2011. These results come from feedback that comes from August 2-August 4 among more than six unearned one randomly selected college and university students. With somewhere in the very near future, the company made a number of changes that will be coming to their games hub, which has been featured on their operating system since it was first released. Although the Toronto Blue Jays might be a bit of a disadvantage being in the same division as the Yankees and Red Sox, that doesn’t mean that users are not interested in tuning into their games. Rogers announced today that their users will soon be able to watch the Toronto Blue Jays, along with 2011 Rogers cup tennis matches that will be premiering on August 8. The company has announced this in users that are interested in watching José Bautista and the Toronto Blue Jays fight for a spot in the playoffs this year. This will be interesting, as not many areas have enabled streaming of games for users that utilize their network. This is a feature that will be available exclusively to users of Rogers and on Roger Smart phones.

A good portion of the mobile industry subscriber base wants to a smart phone, but does not want to pay for the data plans that are associated with. As a result now, rockers will be launching a new “Smartphone Lite” category which will allow for users to get access to smart phones with voice only plans. The devices such as unlocked Samsung i897 Captivate, will also come with a $10 per 100 MB of data used plan that will allow for users to still utilize the smart phones as they were intended to, but without having to dedicate a large amount of money to own smart phone.

The unlocked LG Optimus Black is a great phone that has received a lot of attention over the course of the last two years. Weighing just 3.8 ounces, with a thickness of 9.2 mm, the phone is easily one that could draw attention for its minuscule size alone. Running on the newest version of Android, the LG Optimus Black is a device that is received a lot of attention since it was first released. It has a wonderful display, and is able to deliver very vibrant colors to the users. The software that the phone runs on is also one of the best.

LG even when the extra mile with the 1500mAh battery inside of the device, adding extra battery life and power. This was something that many did not expect the company to do, but definitely worked out in their favor.
