  • Big Specs For LG's All New G3
Posted on July 7, 2014 by Keith Holland

The LG G3 was recently announced and PureMobile is excited to share the hot new details on this super phone from LG. It has been sometime since we have seen a brand new phone from LG and in that time we have seen new entries from Samsung, HTC, and Apple that have raised the bar for smartphones.

One of the main draws of this phone is its very beautiful 5.5 inch screen. Big enough to watch high fidelity videos, but small enough to not feel like a tablet. LG got this one right in the sweet spot. The biggest and most pleasant surprise though has to be the speakers. Compared to the grand champion of smartphone audio - HTC - the LG G3's speakers are nearly as powerful. Finally, there is more than one phone out there that values the auditory experience as much as the visual.

My biggest complaint about smartphones is addressed by the LG G3. With a 3,000 mAh battery, LG takes endurance seriously, at least, more seriously than other phone makers do. Be ready to get at least a day and a half or more with this hulking beast.

In terms of complaints, it's always the same with LG phones. The buttons built onto the back of the phone are annoying as ever and take some serious time to get used to if you are coming from an iPhone or an Android phone like the Nexus 5.

  • The LG G Flex is one freaky device. With its flexible screen and hulking size, there is nothing quite like it on the market. While many are mystified by the tech involved in building such a device, at PureMobile we faced similar questions. How do you build a hardshell, protective case for a phone that flexes? Well, the people behind your favourite accessories figured it out and we now have many cases in stock for these wacky smartphones. Here are some of our favourite cases for the LG G Flex.

    LG G Flex Quick Cover

Access is quick and easy with the Quick Cover from LG for the LG G Flex. See alerts, calls and more with this covers built in viewing window and wake and sleep the device by just closing the cover. Also, watch as the cover adapts to the changing shape of the phone and protects the LG G Flex from dirt, dust and scratches.

    Incipio Feather

The Incipio Feather® for the LG G Flex is an ultra-light weight hard shell, made of a durable and rigid polycarbonate material that changes shape to fit your LG G Flex. The crowd pleasing feather® is preferred for its slim, sleek, flexible and enticing look.

    Otterbox Defender Series

The materials and construction of this multi-layer protective LG G Flex case will move freely with the device while still providing a cushioned, custom fit. Outer layer is made of strong synthetic rubber that holds its shape over time, and the solid polycarbonate shell completely surrounds the LG G Flex to protect the device from drops and damage. Custom rear key cut outs allow for full functionality of the device features for intuitive left- or right-handed use giving you the ultimate device experience. To enhance the case, we’ve included our belt-clip holster that allows for convenient face-in carrying for added protection during transport.

  • LG G3 Aiming For A May Release
Posted on March 13, 2014 by Keith Holland

The LG G2 was a hugely successful phone amongst critics and became one of the faces of the Android operating system along with the Samsung Galaxy S4. With it's high processing power and incredible battery life, the LG G2 was and is a true workhorse, proving you didn't need the latest Apple iPhone to impress your work pals. The all-new LG G3 is on its way to relieve this hardworking device and details are just starting to leak out in terms of what you should expect from the G3. Here is the latest on what we know about this exciting new device from LG.

The new LG G3, first of all, is slated for a May release. This puts it in place to follow up both the Samsung Galaxy S5 and the All New HTC One, putting it in good stead to get ahead of the new Apple iPhone and not be too far away from the hot releases preceding it.

The most prominent feature we know about is the device's reported screen size. At 2560x1440. This would make this phone one of the first 2K screens in a consumer handheld device and slightly nudge itself ahead of it's major competitor the Galaxy S5. It's expected that the G3 will feature a 64-bit processor, once again putting it ahead of the GS3 and entering the fray with Apple for 64-bit supremacy. Camera-wise, the rumoured 16-megapixel puts it the same category as its competitors but miles behind some of the camera offerings being dangled by Sony and Nokia. Other rumours suggest the G3 could feature a water and dust proof chassis, making it possible that this phone could also focus on appealing to the fitness crowd.

The LG G3 should be another powerful offering from LG. We'll have to wait and see what else LG has in store over the coming weeks for the G3.

  • The LG G2 is here and PureMobile have the cases you need to protect and enhance your experience with this phone. The LG G2 features many unique features, including a first in button placement, placing buttons on the back of the phone. This opens up more room for the screen on the front of the phone and reduces the bulge of buttons traditionally located on the side of phones. We'll see how that change goes over but until then here are our favourite cases for the LG G2.

    LG Folio Case

The LG G2 Folio Case is a folding case that both protects and shows off your LG G2. This folding case features high-quality construction and stitching and gives your case a solid build. This eco-friendly case allows access to all your key ports and protects your smartphone from dust and scratches.

    Incipio Feather Shine

The Incipio Feather Shine for the LG G2 is an ultra-thin, ultra-light case. Designed to be as minimal as possible, this case preserves the style already bursting from the seams of the LG G2. This case, which is built with a Plextonium shell, features an aluminum style finish and is built with radio-transparent materials, preserving call and internet quality while you use your LG G2.

    Otterbox Commuter

Coming from on of the most popular names in smartphone and device protection, the Otterbox Commuter Series case is a fantastic case. Built with two-layers of protection, this case is sure to protect your LG G2. The multi-layers protect your phone from impacts and the elements while still giving your phone a low profile. Custom-built for the LG G2, this version of the Otterbox Commuter Series features a special cutout on the back of the case to accommodate the LG G2's unique button placement. Your smartphone is safe when it is protected by Otterbox.

  • LG Nexus 4 Bumper in Black LG Nexus 4 Bumper in Black

Sometimes, less is more. And if your'e not the kind of person who's going to be wilderness camping or on a construction site every day, you probably don't need a super bulky case that's going to hermetically seal your phone inside. So today's Pure Mobile deal of the week, the LG Mobile Nexus 4 Bumper – is all about minimalism and covering your bases without the excess.

Sure there are a lot of great choices when is comes to cases for LG phones, and that includes the Nexus 4. Incipio makes a model of its popular, lightweight Feather case for the Nexus 4, which doesn't add much bulk or much weight.

But the Nexus 4 is a great phone with a great look. In fact, it's pretty unique in terms of aesthetics, with a cool, light-reflecting back that sparkles from different angles. That's the kind of thing you may not want to cover up. So opting for simple Nexus 4 bumper rather than a full carrying case will maintain the integrity of your phone's look.

Google LG Nexus 4 sparkly back The unique, sparkly back on the Nexus 4

Bumpers are by no means the most heavy-duty mobile accessories. But not everyone needs to encase their phones in armor. A bumper provides protection where it's most needed – at the edges and corners, where most cracks tends to stem from – and doesn't add any weight or bulk, or interfere with using the device.

The LG Mobile Nexus 4 Bumper is a clean and simple choice for the minimalists among us. And, going for under 20 bucks at Pure Mobile right now, it's about as affordable as cell phone accessories can get, making it our deal of the week.

  • Google_lg-nexus-4_phone Google's LG-made Nexus 4 phone arrives in Canada

Just a few days ago, Google began taking orders in Canada for their latest phone, the LG-made Nexus 4. But even if you're lucky enough to be an early adopter, what's a Canadian to do about getting accessories for this latest LG phone?

The Nexus 4 has cutting edge wireless charging capabilities. So of course a wireless charger showed up on Google Play last week, but for Canadians, it was listed as unavailable. And Nexus 4 bumpers and cases aren't easy to find in Canada either.

LG Mobile WCP400 Wireless Charging Orb Nexus 4 LG Mobile Wireless Charging Orb for Nexus 4

Well, we don't want to brag or anything, but we at Pure Mobile feel pretty good about the fact that we've been able to succeed where Google has not, as we've managed to get our hands on both the LG Mobile WIreless Charging Orb for Nexus 4, as well as the latest bumper for the device.

You can pre-order the Nexus 4 Wireless Charging Orb on our website, which is more than we can say for Google itself. Oh, and by the way, it's shaping up to be a pretty great charging accessory, not only because it looks so sleek, but also seems to be pretty darned effective, fully charging your phone within 4 hours.

As for device protection, LG Mobile's Bumper for Nexus 4 is available immediately in black through Pure Mobile.

It's pretty similar to the concept developed by Apple for the iPhone, in that it offers protection around the edge of the glass screen, leaving the rest of the device free and open for use.

As the Nexus 4 becomes more widely available across Canada, we're sure we'll be seeing a slew of new accessories for LG Mobile's latest (and greatest?) device. But for anyone who's got to have the phone, and the accessories, ASAP, we at Pure Mobile our patting ourselves on the back for having what you need, when you need it.

  • New LG Optimus G Pro New LG Optimus G Pro headed first to south Korea, with North American launched expected after March.

So it's official. All those rumors you've been hearing about a new LG Optimus phone have been confirmed by the company. The new supersized LG Optimus G Pro will be launching in South Korea this week, reports Mashable, at a "yet unannounced price."

And with a North American launch expected at some point in the 2nd Quarter of 2013 – so, between march and May – Pure Mobile's bringing you the details of the latest addition to the LG Optimus family.

LG Optimus G Pro handsets in black and white LG Optimus G Pro handsets in black and white

The Optimus G Pro will be LG mobile's first phone with a full HD display. And as if to capitalize on that fact, they're serving up a large 5.5-inch screen made of curved glass and boasting 1920 x 1080 pixels, with the display running edge-to-edge.

Running on Android Jelly Bean 4.1.2, it's powered by a 1.7GHz quad-core Snapdragon processor and sports a 13 MP rear-facing camera, as well as a less flashy 2.1 MP user-facing camera.

On the outside, the Optimus G Pro shows the same sort of sparkly textured backing used in their collaboration for the Google nexus 4 smartphone. And, for the time being, it'll only be available in either black or white.

So aside from these (let's face it) pretty standard specs, what new features can we expect from this forthcoming LG phone? The company's been talking up its Dual Recording and Virtual Reality Panorama features quite a bit.

The former allows the user to capture video with both the rear and front-facing cameras simultaneously, "creating a picture-in-picture video," writes PhoneScoop. Meanwhile, the VR Panorama feature will let users take horizontal or 360-degree shots without having to use an app.

LG will be showing off the Optimus G Pro at this year's Mobile World Congress coming up on February 25. So we can only expect more details to emerge regarding the latest Optimus G phone. Stay tuned, because Pure Mobile be checking in with all the developments.

  • LG mobile Google Nexus 4 phone

It's been an on-again, off-again relationship between Canada and Google's Nexus 4. But the device is officially back in stock for Canadians on Google Play, and cell phone accessoires maker Incipio hast you covered with their classic Feather carrying cases, this time specifically geared for this latest LG phone.

As with models for other phones, the Feather for Nexus 4 is notably lightweight (hence the name), especially considering this isn't a silicone cover, but a hard-shell case made from a rigid polycarbonate material.

It's slim and won't add bulk to your new LG phone. But what it will do is protect it from daily wear and provide shock absorption should you (god forbid) drop your newest toy.

With the Feather, Incipio has designed a sleek, minimalistic case that, for all intents and purposes, feels like it's barely there. Easy to slide on and off, it offers complete and unhindered access to all your ports and controls.

Its look is equally streamlined and unfussy. Available in standard Black as well as more punchy colors, like bright blue and hot pink, it's easy on the eyes without going bananas with pattern or texture, which is in keeping with the simple design of the Nexus 4.

WIth their Feather case for LG mobile's latest (and hottest) offering, Incipio has lived up to the standard they've set in the past with accessories for iphone and Android, where they've consistently shown themselves to be one of the best cell phone accessories makers out there.

  • When LG first unveiled their Optimus G smartphone, Canadians were told we'd have to wait until November to get our hands on the device.

Well, that time is drawing near as Canadian mobile carriers prepare to start carrying the quad-core Android phone within the next couple of weeks.

Rogers has already begun taking pre-orders for the Optimus G, though they haven't mentioned a release date yet, and Telus has just announced that they'll have the device by Noveber 13.

And while Telus hasn't stated their pricing for the LTE smartphone, we can assume that it'll be comparable to Rogers' price of $129.99 with a 3-year contract or $599.99 month-to-month.

But LG's newest flagship phone won't just be available through either Rogers or Telus. According to Mobile Syrup, Canucks can expect to find the Optimus G at other carriers – like Bell and SaskTel – as well. And it'll be hitting a bunch of retail partners across Canada too.

“We have tremendous carrier and retail support for the LG Optimus G and thank them for their support,” LG's VP of Mobile Communications Geoffrey McMurdo said in a press release.

“With broad distribution, customers across Canada can harness the power of the Optimus G in their hands. Whether they are running presentations, viewing videos or cross-tasking, the Optimus G makes it easier.”
