In this technologically improved world, you will be given a lot of options to choose from. Although some are rather worrisome, others are potentially much easier as you will find some companies producing far more superior products than most others. TELUS is one such firm that produces the very best of products and more often than not, one would remain happy with the product they decide to purchase. And if you are one of their devoted and regular followers, you are bound to be anticipating the launch of the much talked about Unlocked HTC (Desire) to get one for yourself. Only a few days back Telus made an official announcement that the Desire would be made available and in all possibility you can get it on your network. While the specific launch date is yet to hit the markets and this still remains under curtains, some facts however have been unveiled and thrown to light.
The pricing factor was what was revealed and it was found that for one year it would cost you just under five hundred dollars, however, for two years it is priced at just under four hundred dollars and for three years, it would be around three hundred dollars almost. Of course these prices are merely almost speculated and may or may not be the actual price at launch. The HTC Unlocked (Desire) by Telus provides you with Android 2.1, a wide spread display, a 3G connection, powered by WiFi and GPS. It will also be sporting a five MegPixel camera.
For all its extravagant features, this is bound to be a good buy to say the least. Powered by a 1GHz processor, it almost becomes a must buy. If are one of the millions of admirers of Android you too should be rooting for it. Although we are still a bit uncertain about launch date of the product, you can be sure that it is one to look out for. So keep track of the launch date and the pricing options.

Samsung, the Korean electronics giant has claimed to have plans of moving 10 million pieces of their latest creation, the highly desired Android smartphone, the Unlocked Samsung Galaxy S. The phone, their latest addition to the Android world is supposedly quite a creation and the company is said to have high hopes surrounding it. The company has sold 300,000 pieces in its own place and over 10 million units all over the world.
Two things about the news is however still unclear- whether the company’s claim state their plans for this lone year only, and since nothing has been mentioned about the time period, one would hope that it is. The next is whether the proclaimed number includes the soon to be launched Galaxy S Pro, which is known to be Samsung Unlocked (Epic 4G). This however we presume doesn’t.
While considering the claims placed by the company one must not forget that the device in question is one of the most in demand smartphone market and possesses features to die for. The super gorgeous 4-inch WVGA Super AMOLED touch screen, 1-GHz processor, 5-megapixel camera, HSPA Rev, Wi-Fi connectivity, Bluetooth, 3.5mm audio jack, light, proximity and accelerometer sensors, microSD of up to 32GB along with a stylish and sleek exterior all adds to its appeal. And the device is also being offered in multiple carriers unlike other high-end smartphones, which have exclusive carrier contracts. So considering all of these there is no reason to doubt whether Samsung will reach its goal.

Also not forgetting the back to school sales it is seen to become considerably easy for Samsung to achieve what they claim. It is however yet to be seen whether the company can fight of the other biggies like Motorola, HTC and Apple’s Unlocked Iphones 4 or if it succumbs to the pressure and loses out in the long run. But as of now in view of their current progress one wouldn’t be surprised if Samsung’s competitors were the one to tighten their shoelaces.

TELUS has announced recently that they will be coming out with the Unlocked HTC (Desire) on their network which will bring 3G and many other features along with it. In terms of pricing, this phone will be comparable with the Nexus one but does not have that high a quality as compared to the Unlocked Motorola Droid (X.) For the customers there will be an added plus of the Sense UI which will allow the customization of the home page. The US customers have a special chance to get their hands on this one by way of an import from Canada as this was not available on the US Cellular. They would have to import a European version otherwise.
As we said earlier, this phone will have the Sense UI coming with it and therefore you can then customize your phone in any way as it will be running on Android. There will be a number of changeable layouts and widgets, custom home screens and a large number of options which will allow you to enhance the performance of your Android device. The specs on this one are more or less the same as other Android models. As said earlier, the Desire will come with the new Android OS which is known as the Froyo or the Android 2.1. Other than this, there are also the usual features of the nature of GPS and Wi-Fi connectivity. As for performance, this phone does have a slight draw back as the Flash performance, we feel, is slightly lacking. The Sense layout is by far the best on the Android device and this is where the phone scores above the Nexus one unlocked handset.
There is no official date which has been set for this phone’s release. However, since it will be coming with the back to school collection, we can assume that it will show up before August.

Eldar Murtazin recently presented details about the Android Gingerbread on the Russian podcast Digestive. According to it, Gingerbread will be accessible on advanced devices, which have 1 GHz processors, 512 MBs of RAM, and a large touch screen. Most of the Android devices don’t have any of these features, and hence, are not suitable for the Gingerbread. Only Android phones that were launched earlier this year are able to meet these criteria. A resolution of up to 1280×760 will be supported, and the new user interface will be taking note from the Android 2.1’s photo gallery. But whether or not this means that the UI will be 3-D like is still a guess. But with the 1 GHz processor, a 3-D UI will be very easy to take on.

The low-end Android devices will have to remain happy with 2.1 or 2.2, and as for the Motorola Droid, it will have to remain satisfied with the Froyo only. When it comes to processing power, 1 GHz is the new 528 MHz, and devices such as Unlocked HTC Hero or CLIQ will be unable to tackle Gingerbread. The great divide between the low-end devices and high-end devices by Android will get even more prominent with this Gingerbread issue. Users of myTouch 3G or myTouch 3G Slide will not be happy at all. Both these sets are new inclusions in the market, but they do not meet the hardware conditions that are required for Gingerbread. On the other hand, for people who own a Google’s Unlocked Nexus One or some other high-end device, they will be excited beyond belief, since their phones’ hardware standards meet that of the Gingerbread’s requirements. But this does not necessarily mean that your device will be best suited for the Gingerbread.
According to Murtazin, the Gingerbread will most likely be introduced in the month of October.

The Unlocked HTC ( Incredible ) is really incredible! Handling a few bumps is nothing, compared to what the Incredible can go through. Most phones can handle and survive small bumps and jerks. But the HTC Incredible goes far beyond that. Apparently, it has been found out that the Incredible can go through bonfires, and still work. And when you say work, you mean making calls, browse the web, etc. You name it, and the HTC Incredible can do it, after being in a fire. Whether it’s just a fluke or not, HTC has managed to make an exceptionally strong phone. If it had been any other phone, it would have met its end after spending time with some hot embers, but not the Incredible.

The HTC Incredible is invincible, when it comes to being in a fire. It only experiences some superficial damage. Its internal organs continue to work just like before, as if nothing has ever happened. And apart from being such a strong phone, it is also a piece of eye candy. It has a very nice 3.7 inches AMOLED WVGA-resolution touch screen, an eight megapixel camera with dual LED flash, 3G, Wi-Fi, 1 GHz processor, and Android 2.1, with Sense.

One gentleman when asked about the Incredible’s fire-resistant qualities, had this to say- “I was at the beach and had just lit a bonfire. One of my friends had just called me around 10 minutes after the fire had started and when lifting the phone, it fell in. the fire was around 200 degrees and I found half the screen in the sane. I removed the battery out and let it dry out for around an hour after which I was still able to go ahead surf the web and make calls.”
The HTC Incredible is a slate-style handset, and is very similar to the Google’s Unlocked Nexus One, when it comes to looks. It is a very lightweight handset. The backside of the Incredible has a rubbery finish, having a soft touch. But it is truly the strongest phone ever, and hopefully, we’ll see more handsets like this in the future.

The post apocalyptic online mega game known as Fallen Earth has finally come out for the iPhone and the Google’s Unlocked Nexus One Android as a companion app which you can use to better keep in touch with your clan mates on this game. We can give you certain preview screen shots of this app as it is released. Along with this we can also tell you that the Blackberry equivalent for the same has also come out which allows us get the same functionalities as the Android Companion app provides the user
Customers however need to be aware that this game is available for the users at a monthly subscription fee of $14.99 per month.
We here got a chance to take this game out for a test ride and we found that it was definitely worth the wait. As opposed to checking prior sent mails, this will allow you to receive in-game mails, buy or sell the items that you receive or even customize items. However, what we found most interesting is the feature which allows you to chat with the people who are online. Not only that, you can even check out the character profiles and the gear from the game. Hence we are totally recommending this update. However in terms of gamer friendliness this app does lack to some extent as it seems to focus to much on the staying in touch aspect of it rather than the gaming. This fact is corroborated by the fact that you have to log in every time you want to access anything.
In terms of the Blackberry’s Unlocked phone companion equivalent, we feel that it would have been better if the push mail function was used such that we could get the real time updates of other apps like the eBay app. However the Fallen Earth companion beats the World of Warcraft equivalent any day.

The over-the-air (or OTA) update on 28th June for Unlocked HTC ( EVO 4G) smartphone was aborted due to user complaints of the handset acting abnormally or becoming entirely unresponsive (‘bricking’ in popular jargon) in many cases. The software update was intended to resolve a few bug related issues, a Wi-Fi problem and nothing else of much import. This rather standard update created havoc for many HTC EVO users. For some the handset went totally dead while some reported a standard update with no side-issues.

The occassional bricking of a mobile phone is not that unusual during updates. Service Provider pulled the plug on the particular update, explaining itself to MobileCrunch:
“While the vast majority of consumers successfully downloaded and installed the most recent HTC EVO 4G software update, we have received a handful of reports from customers having some issues with the update. In light of this, HTC have decided to temporarily halt distribution of this software release until we can investigate further. We expect to be able to resume software updates shortly.”
The issue was indeed addressed promptly. This time the update is more or less successful with no large-scale accounts of bricking like last time. Having successfully finished the updating process, users have experienced longer battery life and more speed, but is not clear on what other enhancements have been included in this new OVA update.
HTC unlocked cell-phone manufacturer needs to sit up and take serious notice of these issues and more. The Andriod 2.1 operating system has to be integrated seamlessly with the EVO handset, following which they have to start preparing for Andriod 2.2 Froyo and address the fact that Sense UI makes it difficult for updates to be streamlined. EVO users may have to wait a while as nothing has been announced as yet by HTC on these points.

With arrival of Google on the mobile scene, things were certain to change. So it comes as no surprise that many different developers have started creating a wide variety of applications specifically for this operating system. In fact, it has today been claimed that there are over 65,000 different applications that are available for users running Android on their smartphones. In fact, Google’s Andy Rubin has said that there are around 160,000 android activations taking place daily. This coupled with there being over 65,000 applications in the Android Market make Unlocked Google’s Nexus One Android operating system another priceless piece of software to have. Considering the fact that Android is only a couple of years old, has resulted in it being aptly termed a ‘revolution’.

A few months ago, it was revealed by Google that most devices of Android were being activated at around 100,000 per day. At that time, the total number of applications present was noted as 50,000. A few weeks later and these applications have increased by 15,000. These statistics are indication of the market share of the Android. Recent surveys have pegged Google Android as having a total market share of 33% by 2012. The past few months have seen a rapid rise in the number of Android based applications being made available for customers. In spite of the fact that Apples iPhone Unlocked Gadget is being put on the shelf, Google is not back down and when partnered together with various device manufacturers such as HTC and Motorola, you know that Apple will have to face some competition. Considering the numerous applications available on Android seems to suggest that many do prefer it when choosing any operating system. So the next time you plan on purchasing any mobile, it might be wise to ensure that you are getting the Android as the sheer numbers of applications available implies you will never be left wanting more.

Although the latest release from HTC, the EVO 4G, has all the capability of supporting Wireless N, for some reason HTC decided to leave it out of the first version of this super phone. However, since it was being packed together with Android, you can be sure that there would be some major changes possible for it. So it comes as no surprise that XDA developers have managed to get the wireless N working completely on the Unlocked HTC (EVO).

But be warned, in case you have recently picked out the HTC EVO 4G and are new to Android, it is not recommended that you go ahead with this procedure. However, if you are like most others and are too stubborn to give up, you can give it a go. Although a previous hack for this required users to have a little knowledge of ADB, now it is relatively simpler to hack, as all you have to do is simply flash the zip file, which is very similar to sideloading your phone with a ROM. But our recommendation is that you still learn a bit of ADB as it would aid greatly in the process of getting wireless N working on your phone.

While you might be compelled to just go ahead and immediately get this hack working, be warned that it could drain the battery life of your EVO. Although we have yet to see just what are the repercussions of getting Wireless N enabled on your phone, chances are that it will affect your battery too. The fact that the developers over at XDA have been able to get a variety of hacks working in the Android, meant that it would only be a matter of time before they came up with bigger and better roots. In fact, you can be sure that any new hacks released will be simply amazing. You can get step by step procedures on how to get wireless N on your EVO at the XDA developers forum.

Although there have, and will always be Unlocked HTC Pure Windows based hardware, Mac is now making a comeback as can be seen from the launching of the new 3G and 4G routers and modems by Clear. It is now a first that there have been such developments in the field of support for the Mac such as the 4G+ USB data stick that was recently made by Sierra Wireless. In fact, there have been numerous different data sticks made specifically for the Mac. Clear data cards make use of WiMax, and when such WiMax support is unavailable, the Clear card would automatically switch to the 3G or EVDO network. If you do plan on purchasing this device, you will have to either shell out a premium of $115 for the entire device or pay a reasonable $6 per month should you want to rent it. Such renting is quite similar to the renting of a router from your local internet company.

To be able to work with Clear data cards, you will have to have a Mac OS X Leopard or higher and when choosing the routers, you have a choice of which to choose. The first router available is the Spot 4G on Iphone 4 Unlocked Device which will not work with any other network except Clear’s 4G range. Through this router, a maximum of eight users will be allowed, so all your friends and family can take part. Part from this, there is also the Spot 4G+ that allows a maximum of 5 users at a single time. Quite similar to Sprint’s 3G/4G network, it allows users the ability of switching to a 3G network in case the signal from Clear’s 4G is extremely weak or not available.
The Spot 4G is available at a premium of $100, whereas the Spot 4G+ is available at a premium of $225, which works out to $65 per month should you be on the go often
