A global supply manager for Apple was arrested on Friday. The man named Paul Shin Devine was arrested with charges of money laundering, kickbacks and wire fraud after he was indicted for leaking iPod and iPhone trade secrets to suppliers in Asia. Paul Devine has been accused of receiving over $1 million from Asian suppliers for exchanging secret trade information about the iPhone4 unlocked handset and iPod touch. The information provided by Paul Devine was used by the Asian accessory maker to negotiate a lucrative deal with Apple.

Investigation revealed many schemes involving international and US banks where accounts were opened using Devine’s wife’s name. The mediation of many transactions were made by, CPK Engineering, a fake company from which he received bribes. He even devised a secret language where leaked information was written as “samples” so that his co-workers couldn’t find about the transactions.
Another accused in the case is a resident of Singapore named Andrew Ang. He was the receiver of some of the leaked information. The names of the Asian companies that were involved were not disclosed but it was revealed that they were suppliers for iPod Touch and unlocked iPhone4. These companies were located in Taiwan, South Korea, Singapore and China. The investigation was jointly conducted by the FBI and IRS.
On top of the federal indictment, a civil case was filed against him by Apple, in order to get compensation for damages. The nature of the information that was leaked remains unknown and so does the amount of damages. Apple’s response to the arrest of Devine was harsh. The Spokesperson for Apple Steve Dowling said publicly that, Apple maintains a high moral standard in their manner of business and they do not tolerate any dishonest behaviour.
This is the first time in the company’s 34 year long history that an employee is arrested for giving out trade secrets.

Dell, entering the competitive world of smartphones, was something that everyone dreamed of and it seems as if their dreams are about to come true, and that too in a big away not too far in the future. The company is planning the release of a Windows Phone 7 handset and a leak few months back revealed the company’s plans of launching a few devices that will be powered by Android. It seems like the competition to get us to but smart phones just got even hotter.
The Dell Thunder is supposedly going to have a 4.1 inch OLED screen, but after HTC’s recent enforced change to Sony’s Super LCD because Samsung was not being able to cope with the demands for OLED screens, we can never be too sure until it is actually launched. The Thunder is also going to have an 8 MP camera that will have the capacity to shoot 720p videos, on the lines of the Droid X from Motorola, the Unlocked iPhone4 and almost all the new smart phones that are being launched in the market.
The model that was leaked was seen to be running the Android 2.1 but the actual release will probably have the Froyo or the Android 2.2, it was revealed by a source close to the company. However, when it will be launched and how much it will cost was not revealed.

However, with the lack of production of the Dell Aero which was released in March raises the question if Dell will actually be able to meet the demands if it does actually launch the phone into the market. The company has won over many hearts with its PC’s and laptops, but people and experts are already very skeptical about the long term success of the company in this market.

The BlackBerry Unlocked Torch 9800 is being built up as the biggest leap in the evolution of BlackBerry and the fact that it is not over hyped has been echoed by experts, critics and the general public alike. This slider from the company is in a class of its own, having a QWERTY keypad, and a totally optical track pad, alongside the fact that it has touch screen display. The phone is running on BlackBerry 6 OS and the phone has got a total overhaul in the browser facility, with the introduction of tabbed browsers so that multiple numbers of websites can be accessed at the same time. The pinch-to-zoom technology that was so far present only in the unlocked iPhone4 will also be making its debut for BlackBerry.
It is Blackberry’s first phone which will be capable of next-generation messaging that will include messaging in groups for up to 10 people at a time, as well as 10 different locations at the same time. You will be able to access all the popular social networking websites such as Twitter, Facebook, MySpace and many others from the Torch and that is very good news for all the hip and happening folks out there. The Torch also has by far, the best camera on any BlackBerry with a 5 MP camera that has flash, auto focus technology and different settings for different environments.
The Unlocked Torch 9800 also has the latest Wi-Fi network support, which can easily be accessed from homes, offices as well as on fastest 3G network in the country that easily has more than 20000 Wi-Fi Hot Spots of AT&T throughout the nation.
Now, that is just music to the ears for those who are in love with the BlackBerry and everything related to it and the fact that the Torch will be a huge hit might just be a matter of time.

NAVIGON celebrated the first anniversary of the company in the Apple Application Store. The celebration included a three day 50% sale on all its applications. NAVIGON develops third-party mobile solutions that are used by the Unlocked iPhone4, known as MobileNavigator and has been in the business for as long as 19 years. Many are aware of what it really is as it appeared first on PocketPC and has also made an appearance on the platform of the Android.
The sale, however, applied only to the versions of the iPhone and also included the company’s titles for North America and maps for most of the other countries as well. In-App purchases of Traffic and Panorama were also included in the discount scheme by the company. The discount included the following as well:
- NAVIGON’s maps for North America, including those of the United States of America and Canada
- NAVIGON’s separate maps of the United States of America
- NAVIGON’s maps of Canada
- In-App Traffic purchase
- In-App Panorama purchase
MobileNavigator offers many interesting features that are lacking in the Google Maps that are built into the phone and these include scope to navigate turn-by-turn; realistic views of photos, high definition views that are on 3D, live updates of weather and traffic of any place that you might want to know, the highly used Google Search application, and can also be integrated with the highly popular social networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter and even Orkut. It allows maps to be downloaded to the device in your hand if you are having problems with Wi-Fi connectivity.
The current version of the MobileNavigator or 1.6.0 has been built to be compatible with the latest iPhone 4 unlocked handset, 3GS as well as 3G. The original versions of the iPhone can also be made compatible with this with the help of an external GPS device.

Very recently, there was news that the TweetDeck Beta for Android had been leaked and the news was met with a huge frenzy and craze from all over the globe, but that excitement soon died down when it was reported that the leaked version was an old build. However, there is something to get excited as of now. The Twitter application that is on Android phone will be launched in just over a few days or so, as it was reported on the Twitter account of TweetDeck. (That could easily make for a very hard tongue twister: TweetDeck Twitter Account)
But unfortunately, it will not be available in the Android market just as yet, which is definitely not a very good thing. It is being reported that it might take at least a few more months or even a year for this to happen, and that is just plain sad. But what can we do other than to just wait for it. We might have to just be content for now with Twitter or Seemic for Android to keep hold of yourself for the time being (at least it is much better than having nothing at all). But do remember, ‘patience is a virtue’.
You know very well how time flies and very soon, you might just be tweeting about your lunch menu, dinner place, hangouts with your friends or a date with your hot girlfriend and might just end up sharing every bit of gossip and news and become a rage among your friends. Now, that would not be half as bad, would it? However, do unlocked iPhone4 users need to be reminded that it is already available for your platform?
As said before, the application has not been made available in the Android market, and all the details pertaining to its installation and other information are available in the TweetDeck blog.

iPhone4 users who regard their privacy as next to jewels are going to be highly disappointed by this read. Chicago Sun Times recently reported that Unlocked iPhone4 is popular among detectives and investigators because the device records all the information about its owner and saves it which, in times of investigation becomes an open treasure box for the cops.
As per the report published, a wide range of sensitive personal information gets stored in the iPhone which can later be used to track and identify the owner. Some of the information that an iPhone stores are:
- The hundreds of screen shots that are grabbed by the iPhone when an application is shut down by the user or the user switches between two applications
- Photos that are uploaded contains the GPS co-ordinates embedded in them as well as a serial number that is unique to the iPhone
- Information can also be retrieved from browser history. Even if history is deleted, it can be easily restored by using right tools and with a little bit of knowledge.
- One can also get info about the user from the cached keystrokes that are an autocorrect self-learning feature.
- Data relating to map location gets stored as screen shot after the Map application is closed by the user.

All these delicate data are stored because sometimes it is required to access them for practical purposes to improve the phone’s performance. Other cellular phones too store sensitive information but iPhone stores a little more than what others do. For some people this is not an issue, because a subtle threat to privacy does not bother them at all; what matters to them is a personalized phone that works faster and better. However, for others who are more concerned about their privacy do realize that the collective information stored in their iPhone4 can paint a precise and, many a times, an unwanted picture of their life.

Apple Inc is an American MNC (Multinational Corporation) that designs computer hardware, computer software, consumer electronics and personal computers. Apple is famous for some of its hardware products like the iPod, the iPhone, the Macintosh computers and the iPad. Its software products are equally famous all over the world namely Mac OS X, the iLife, the media browser iTunes, the iWork, the Aperture etc.

June 29, 2007 was the day the iPhone was launched by Apple. The hardware engineers had realized the need of a cutting edge operating system for smooth-running of the iPhone. So they came out with iOS, which was previously known as iPhone OS. Now iOS runs on both iPad and iPod. Regular updates to the OS for the iPad, iPhone4 and iPod Touch are provided by Apple through iTunes. This is an exceptional feature of the iPhone and it gives the iDevices an edge over other mobiles and devices.

On August 3rd, 2010 Apple released the latest update to iOS 4 beta and the SDK corresponding to it. This brings the current edition of both to iOS 4.1 beta 3.
The latest in news is that iOS 4 beta 3 has announced that people can now avail of FaceTime via email. Earlier FaceTime was only available in phone calls and in the contacts list. Now the display is such that in the Contact’s app, an email option appears on the screen besides the usual phone number option to start a call. This might make FaceTime the future of iOS devices which are fitted with front-facing cameras.
It is believed that Apple is preparing to use at least one front-facing camera that is compatible with FaceTime for the iPod Touch of the next generation. Rumors say it will be introduced next month. Several pictures of iPods have surfaced that claim to be the generation-next iPod. Speculations have also risen regarding Apple’s iPad having a front-facing camera, although such speculations are mere words and not backed by any substantial evidence. It would be all the more better if Apple takes a step forward and allows its customers to make FaceTime calls over 3G without downloading third-party applications or jailbreaking our own devices.

Google Android is finally here! Well it actually arrived a good time back when Google officially launched it. However, sales figures now have actually proved that the Android is indeed here. Brace yourselves ladies and gentlemen. The Android sales figures have outpaced figures posted by Apple for it’s unlocked iPhone4 in the global market. Another jolt awaits in the next sentence. The Android sales figures have also overcome sales figures posted by RIM for its BlackBerry Unlocked cell phone, though this case is only related to the United States. Well and truly The Androids have invaded us successfully! The numbers to be honest are not at all that surprising, considering that several different research firms have confirmed that Android sets have a strong market hold already. Android devices as per Gartner have managed a total shipping of 10.6 million sets into the market in this quarter itself, just edging out the Apple iOS to be reach third place overall, which translates to around 17.2% of the general cell phone market share. Awe inspiring is the growth report which for a fact says that there has been in fact a overall growth of 850% in roughly a year.

Further reports say that Apple managed sales of around 9 million sets of iPhones in this quarter that translates to around 14.2% share of immediate market. The iPhone 4 unlocked handset accounts for a cool three million handsets from this figure, which was sold in a matter of 21 days. Apple may not be the bigger market shareholder yet they still post a high profit from their sales because they book a higher profit margin per device sold. For all the excitement we show for Google Android or for Apple iPhone, fact of the matter is that RIM and Nokia still on boast higher market share. However, both Apple and Google are threatening to eat away at that!

Apple seems to have pleased its advertising partners greatly with its new iAd platform. The partners seem happy with early returns from the platform but at the same time mention clearly that for now it is way too early to call it and absolute winner when it comes to cell phone advertising.

The whole platform that is iAd was integrated with the unlocked iPhone4 along with simultaneous inclusion in the iOS 4 from Apple. The basic idea of the platform is to enable advertisers to use the accelerometer, rich media and advanced graphics within the Apple apps and in this way make mobile ads interesting, compelling and interactive such that users don’t feel detracted from the overall feel of the iPhone. Companies like Nissan, Dove and Dictionary.com expressed their satisfaction with the iAd application after being one of the first companies to use its functions.
Chad Jacoby, senior manager at Nissan’s media department claims that iAd is the “most progressive thing” that could’ve happened to mobile advertising and it provides companies with an opportunity to take advantage of the phenomenon that it is. Other establishments claim that its higher levels of engagement enable iAd to charge more for its advertising space.

What is interesting is the fact that the iAd platform may well be a huge blow to Google’s plans for its phone advertising section, considering the amount of traction it is inevitably gaining. Google recently acquired Admob for close to a billion dollars, but it now turns out these ads may well be technically blocked by the Apple programs. However Google still holds the edge when it comes to advertising as compared to Apple for the simple reason that Google has a longer history in this sector. With Windows waiting in the wings to jump into the phone ad sector, things may well heat up further. Who will turn up victorious? That is something that only time will ever be able to tell us.

As the unlocked iPhone4 from Apple and Android by Google are having a gain of traction in the enterprise market, we should look out at research from data got in Good Technology accordingly.
During a release, this company has commented that since it has begun supporting iOS4 and the Android, businesses are being more eager so that employees put these devices in some use. Good deployed solutions of 1500 in number in the initial half of the year, to support the products in business. It is said by the company that 43% of total deployments of it includes an iPhone from Apple now or Android device from Google.
The chief executive Brain Bogosian in charge of good technology said in a already prepared statement that consumers more strongly than ever are influencing the decision makers of IT on the basis of personal mobility option of themselves. He added to it that devices such as the iPhone or Unlocked Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 android phone are now available with high capability in business as well as personal grounds and it caters to the need of IT for a cross-platform solution which is for security of mobility and management and this is greater need than ever.
It is just the other mark that RIM might have had a hard challenge at its hands with the market of enterprise, just as the Commission of Europe has also passed recently in favour of the iPhone from Apple regarding the Blackberry issue as well as the Android devices from Google, HTC. If we combine that thing with the recent potential bans all on the units of BlackBerry and there could be bleak things for RIM.
People of course have been telling that RIM is all ripe now for the yearlong taking to know and continuously it dominated the market of enterprise just for the reason of the security as well as integrated services of it.
