Recently in the news there has been a lot of attention in the news regarding cell phones and crimes. This not only entails criminal offenses but also persons with cell phones, whose data has been compromised. Because smart phones have become such a large part of our lives we need to make sure that we have all the necessary security measures to afford us the protection that we need.

A woman supposedly stabbed her ex-husband because of what she saw on his cell phone call history. Even though the news did not say, I would suspect that it had to do with perhaps other women that her ex was in contact with. Thankfully the wounds were not serious, however, he was treated and released at a local hospital. I guess the victim did not hear about TigerText, the new application for the iPhone unlocked. No it is not named after Tiger Woods, however, the timing of the release is certainly interesting. The company says it is not named after the professional golfer, but it is named after a tiger that is very difficult to catch. The application allows you to be able to delete text messages that are stored on your cell phone. If Tiger or the victim of the stabbing had used in applications such as this, perhaps they would not be in the mess that they are currently in.
I guess it comes back to the old adage, if you do not want anyone to see it, make sure it is not available. If Tiger had just thought for a moment that perhaps his wife would see or hear some of the messages stored on his phone he may not have gotten caught quite yet. How many times have you heard about the wife checking the call logs to see what their husbands were actually up to? It is a sad state of affairs that we stoop to such levels since many people are not able to have honest relationships. I guess if you are involved in anything that you don’t want other people to know about, you should use a program like TigerText for your iPhone 3GS or some of the other programs out there in order to keep your call history and text messages away from curious eyes.

PayPal is planning on opening in applications for later this year. This will give a place for developers that can sell some of their latest applications for cell phone users. PayPal does not want to get into the developing business, but they want to provide a platform that developers can present some of their applications to users as well as merchants. This is something similar to what eBay did last year when they offered a variety of merchant tools in its selling manager suite and opening up to external developers and their applications. This could be great news for Nexus One unlocked mobile phone users.

PayPal launched its payments platform last year, which enabled developers to use their variety of payment tools. PayPal seem to be satisfied with how they were able to have developer’s link into their payment processes through external sites that are now looking to include those on their internal sites. This all came out during a recent developers conference in Florida. During the presentation PayPal officials showed how by simply using a button purchases could be made, quite simply.
By allowing the developers to include the PayPal payment process inside the application will streamline the process as opposed to now when you have to exit a particular application and then enter the PayPal site to complete your transaction. There seems be a huge rush from many other folks such as Google and Amazon.com to be able to offer some of the similar online applications for payments. They will be doing some testing of this through their mobile payments library, which will enable developers to use the PayPal application integrated into their software. This will initially be for iPhone apps, but they are hoping to quickly expand to other smart phones.

Apple has released Aperture 3. This is a major announcement for this high powered photo editing and managing software application. It comes complete with over two hundred new functions. It is easier as well as faster to be able to handle and organize large photo files. It will work well for those that use iPhoto 09. The great thing about Aperture 3 is that it is excellent for the pro and easy enough for the amateur that wants to do more things with their photos.
There are many new tools in order for the user to edit and touch up. There are brushes for adjusting pictures and Adjustment Presets to be able to use photo effects just like the professional. You can create slideshows that incorporate audio, pictures and video. It is no longer just a way to organize photos with all of the new imaging tools.
You can use Faces and Place as well as Projects to archive the large amounts of photos you need to keep track of. Faces lets you manage photos through recognizing who is in the photo. Places does precisely the same thing. You can use these features to be able to place photos on your iPhone unlocked cell phone Photos.

The numerous new brushes give you the ability to touch up photos by putting them right on the image. The fifteen quick brushes make it easier so you do not have to go through the different layers. You can publish the pictures right to social networking sites like Facebook, MySpace and Flickr right from the software.
You are able to purchase Aperture 3 at the Apple Store as well as any authorized dealers. You can also download a thirty-day trial version at the Apple web site to check it out before purchasing, whether to better manage your Apple iPhone photos or if you are a professional.

Apple finally announced the iPad. This will be Apple’s attempt into the tablet market. Since they announced it there has been a lot of praise about it, but there is also one major downside. There is no flash on the Apple iPad. This is a problem because it doesn’t allow people to check out flash websites or play flash games.
While Engadget was at the press conference they snapped a picture showing the blue missing plugin icon.

This isn’t a completely unexpected move by Apple considering the iPhone and iPod Touch don’t have flash either, but everyone really wants it.
I guess only time will tell if we will get it, but for now we want to know what our readers think
