The market research company Gartner said on Wednesday that PC sales slowed down 9.3% throughout all of 2011 so far and consumers have greatly reduced their spending in order to hold on to their current computers for much longer. The slowed growth of PC sales is mostly because of the success of the Apple iPad and other tablets that have flooded the market. So far the changes in shipments have been rather unpredictable, but should level out at some point.
