The Apple iPhone has ushered mobile technology into a new phase of innovation and this phone has become a benchmark for high end mobile phones. Made available to the world in June 2007, this phone has proved to be a hit among mobile phone fans who were awed by the features, functionality and the design of the phone. The recently launched 3G version of the iPhone offers advanced functions and high memory capacity as compared to the earlier versions of the iPhone. Here are some of features present in Apple iPhone:
- IPod: The iPhone comes preinstalled with Apple’s music player application, iPod. You can sync the iPhone with your computer and load music and movies on it. The touch control of the iPhone makes it easy to browse through albums, songs, and artists. The 3.5 inch screen of the iPhone allows you to watch movies and videos in a widescreen display.
- Safari Browser: The iPhone features Apple’s advanced Safari internet browser. You can surf the internet at high speeds with the Safari browser. Safari allows you to use EDGE, 3G, and Wi-Fi to connect to the internet. You can also transfer bookmarks from your PC or Mac into the iPhone for better browsing experience.
- Multi Touch: The iPhone is more than a touch-screen phone as it recognizes complex finger touch gestures on its screen. You can zoom in on the pictures or video with a tap or a pinch on the screen. If you get a call while playing music then you can silence the microphone with the pinch on the microphone.
- Maps with GPS: With the GPS activated iPhone you can access the maps to any place you are visiting. The map feature allows you to get directions to a place, and it also shows the traffic information while you choose a route. You can get satellite information and Google map data on the iPhone too.
- 3G Technology: The 3G technology in the new iPhone enables high speed browsing, downloading, and streaming music and movies from the internet. With iPhone 3G you can surf the web from virtually anywhere on the planet as this feature makes use of cellular networks to transfer data. The iPhone’s intelligent power management system gives you up to 5 hours of talk time when you are using the 3G service.
Apple’s iPhone is a marvel of technology and the user ease offered by its simple interface is truly amazing. You can buy the latest model of the iPhone with all these features and more at www.puremobile.ca.

A new week brings a new phone. Well not really a new phone. It’s the iPhone. To be more specific it’s the 3G iPhone.
What’s new about it is that this 3G iPhone is that it is unlocked. To be more specific it is an iPhone that was never locked. It means we got them from a distributor already unlocked.
What this means for our customers is that they can finally use the iPhone on any GSM network in the world. You no longer need to have a contract with a provider to get the phone. You can simply buy it from PureMobile and put in your sim card and off you go a brand new iPhone on which ever gsm carrier you’re with.
In case you are wondering it is the exact same iPhone you can get with Rogers or Fido but this one can be used anywhere. If you go down to the states or overseas to Europe you can simply pick up a pre-paid (pay as you go) sim card and you’ll get a local number without needing to buy a phone.
So should you or should you not get a 3G iPhone unlocked. Well you should. Time to upgrade to the next generation and enjoy yourself.

It’s been a few months since Quebec enacted the hands-free law. You can no longer drive with your cell phone in your hand to talk in Quebec, Newfoundland and Labrador, and Nova Scotia.
These provinces are the first and we are sure not the last to enact this law. With police and the government trying to take a hard line again reckless driving this is just the beginning. This is a step forward in making driving safer.
Recently, October 4, 2008, the Alberta government rejected two resolutions that would have banned cell phones or cell phone holding. Many people in the medical community are for the banning or restricting of cell phones. These problems are “newer” problems facing governments. It will take some time before laws are fully passed.
The question is what will driving be like in 10 years? Will we have implants for our cell phones? Will talking and driving even be allowed anywhere? These are questions that can’t be answered now but we will likely see many more changes in the coming years.

This week we thought we’d like to discuss a Canadian company and the many phones that are coming out soon enough for them. The company is RIM. RIM is known for creating and selling the Blackberry. They have many versions out at this time including the newest Bold, but over the next few months they are slated to release at least three new ones
The first is called the Javelin 9300 and it will be the upgrade to the Blackberry Curve. It will look similar to the Bold but it will be smaller as the Curve is. Not much is known about it but it will likely have many of the same features as the Bold, but until it is officially announced we won’t have the full specifications on it.
The next new one coming out is the Storm 9500. It is a completely new Blackberry as it will have a touch screen similar to the iPhone. It has 3G, a camera, built in GPS, but as of this writing it does not have Wi-Fi. The touch screen is being said to be a completely different screen then the iPhone. It will give you a feeling of actually pushing the buttons on the screen. The screen has a special film on it that when you push will make the screen indent like when you push on a button in real life.

The last new phone coming out will be the Pearl 8220. The new Pearl 8220 will be the first flip phone Blackberry. It will be your traditional Pearl in the sense it will not have a full QWERTY keyboard, but for Pearl lovers this is not an issue. Also it will not have 3G but it will have Wi-Fi
For now most of these phones have not been released yet so how good they are we can’t say. As soon as they come on the market you will get our full unbiased review.

So the election has come and gone and we are really no further ahead then before the election? What does this mean for the country? What about this talk about turmoil in the US? Who knows we at PureMobile aren’t pretending to be economic gurus or aren’t going to give you advice on something that we shouldn’t.
What we do want to do is continue the conversation we had last week. Last week we talked about Stephen Harper and good for him he is going to be Prime Minister for a little longer, but this week we will shift our attention to the other Candidates. We Have Stepane Dion, Gilles Duceppe and Jack Layton. Now these three represent the other “major” parties of Canada. There are “minor” parties that we will not talk about.
What we want to know is what these three use as communication devices. It’s safe to say that everyone has a cell phone, but which kind of cell phone? Do they use BlackBerry’s? Do they you a simple phone like a Motorola Razr? We know our readers want to know.

With the federal election only weeks away we are getting down to crunch time with Stephan Harper, Stéphane Dion, and Jack Layton being the front runners. Like everyone we hear all the daily news stories about what the politicians are doing and where they are doing it. What we want to know is what kind of cell phone they are using while out on the campaign trail.
Stephan Harper is still young enough that technology isn’t out of his grasp. He, like everyone else, uses a cell phone in his daily life. The question is which one? Does he use a smart phone, like a Blackberry or iPhone or is he more of the simple man and uses something like a Motorola Razr or Sony Ericsson k550? At PureMobile this is a question that we think our customers want answered among other things like what are the politician’s views on cell phone fees like system access charges and early termination costs.
What we want to know is what you think. We want to know which cell phone our customers think Mr. Harper uses on the campaign trail. On Tuesday we will reveal which phone he uses. Until then you can look at our phone list here to get a better idea of the phones that are available to the candidates.
